Anyone quit smoking since cigs were banned in public places. I don't think it's the ban that did it, but I'm now three months nicotine free. WOO HOO!!

Congrats! I'm not usually in bars unless I'm playing and I always ate in NS sections so it hasn't really affected me. I'm really weird though. I can go days without a smoke, then smoke a pack a day for a week. Sometimes I just don't have the urge.

I had stopped for nearly two months, however I realized that I was shoving food into my mouth faster than .... well you get the idea. I started adding on to the already belly I have so I decided it was best for me to start smokin again.
Am I weak? Prolly, but you know what I would sooner die from smokin that becoming a 600 lb pile of shit!!!

BTW Congrats Sanchez.

Yeah, I wish I could do that . I actually enjoy smoking, but after 16 years at a pack a day they've become quite a dependency. I've tried to just keep it casual but that didn't work for me. Once I got through the two weeks of hell, I told myself "never again" :D

I still smoke... I just dont eat at restaurants anymore... or even go out to the bars anymore... Less we goto Aldo's which is about the only bar that has smoking in Altoona...

Other than private clubs..So if I want to drink and smoke and listen to music... I sit at home in my room, turn up my speakers and have at it :D

I quit smoking 6 or 7 years ago, don't miss it at all. Once in a while I get the urge for a pinch of snuff, but I won't do it because I'll be back to smoking. :)

I quit 25 years ago, but I was never addicted, I don't think. I never had a real craving like a lot of people. It was more of a a psychological thing, just to keep in my hand. I DO get how tough it is for most, though.
My reason for quitting was that it affected my voice, and I had just found out you could get girls by being in a band. I had my priorites. :) --->JMS

Nice job, man! I quit for 6 months a few years ago. Then I started working in a small tool shop with a guy that smoked Camels like they were going out of style. 1 day I asked for one, the next day I bummed 2, then I needed a pack...

Two bits of advice.
1. Keep gum around at all times.
2. Don't get married.

I quit for 9 years when my first daughter was born. After the divorce( Now I'm back to 1 pk. a day). What a bitch!!!

I hear that, I quit for 14 months a few years ago. Same deal, I bummed one at a new job (I have no idea why) and six months later I was buying packs again. I like to think, now, that I learned from my mistake. Anyhoo, I still have ten more months untill I get back to where I was. I made a promise to myself that I won't do that again. :D

I just quit smoking cigarettes this Monday, first time ever, it's been easier than i thought. Since Shaw's is smoking, that will be my real test this Sunday. I did love to smoke and play.

I stopped going to bars really . . . I only smoke when I drink so I have no desire to go somewhere where I can't do that. To me smoking and drinking are hand in hand. Now it sucks when we play because that's what I liked to do on breaks. Luckily you can still smoke at the Pony Lounge. It's not bad during the summer to step outside but in the winter, can't do it. Vocal chords freeze.
