My whole point in this discussion is that when you have illegal drug use going on openly, and you get busted, don't cry about it.

Hey, everybody, I was mistaken about Dan and Mysterytrain being there when the raid took place. I spoke with Dan yesterday, and he told me that was a quote he found from another band that was there. My bad! I would still love to hear the soundboard recordings, and I'm sure they'll be used in court.

It's the story about a great ALTERNATIVE venue besides a bar or club that is being "crucified" for whatever reason. I'll venture a guess and say that the peaceful folks that attended CULM were an easy target for LEO to gain more funding from their sugar-daddy government for doing such a "great" job in keeping those dangerous criminals and their warez off the streets.

It's really not about the drugs, Rob. I agree with you about the ramifications on illegal drug use. Besides, the police only arrested about 10% of the concert attendees/vendors on drug-related charges. A few bad apples maybe? Do you think that the police searching little kids at gun point like ZappasXWife stated is okay? (BTW How are you doing, girl?!)

I always thought that rock and roll was/is about rebellion, and I think that people need to start reading in between the lines of what the government is doing to your lives on a regular basis. Or not. That's what's nice about freedom, we have choices. Let's hope we don't lose our rights to the choices we make whether they be good or bad. Most people that I've encountered would rather sit in their bubble and ignore the fact that we are losing some basic rights such as the one about unreasonable searches and seizures as demonstrated at CULM on private property, and the one about free speech is kinda important, too.

Has anyone seen the news about the cash-strapped county in Alabama that wants the National Guard to come in and patrol their streets because they can't afford to pay their police force? Scary, but true.

I have a problem with organized religion, too, Brian. Especially the fact that the Church is the largest tax-exempt organization in the world. I also dig the fact that CULM is utilizing their tax-exempt status to throw some kick ass shows AND give the proceeds to charity. How many bars or clubs do THAT except for around the holidays? Not many if any.

Speaking of fine get togethers...Dan and Mysterytrain have been putting on some great shows at the beautiful Lincoln Caverns campgrounds and other venues throughout the spring and summer, and the people that go to these events absolutely LOVE music. 150-250 people willing to camp and check out a weekend of local music is alright with me! Keep up the great work, Mysterytrain, and we'll see you soon! ALWAYS a great time...

Sorry for the rant, but I've been taking some Dr. Mom to try and rid myself of these swine flu symptoms. Must have been the ribs I smoked on Sunday.

About two weeks ago, one of my friends was misidentified as a perp and had a gun pointed at him by cops. He later found out the outrageous crime that the real perp committed that had the cops on his tail: He walked across the street with an open can of beer.

The Church raid is just another candid example of how outrageous and asinine is the War On Drugs. Great job getting those pot smokers and head shop owners off the streets. I feel so much safer now.

You people love to whine about your tax money being spent for socialized health care. I don't like it when my tax money is spent busting a bunch of hippies for a victimless crime. Oh goody, maybe we'll get to pay for the incarceration of a head shop owner too. Nothing like cleaning up the streets.

That's what happens when regulatory agencies control the supply of a product, and suppliers cannot meet public demand! Damn it!
