Dennis "Kango" Sabo RIP

Post by mjb »

Dennis was an old friend, a little younger than me and hung out with my brother and even lived at our house for a while as a teenager. He was into the heavy underground stuff back in like the late 80's but we both loved SRV, couldn't get enough, and we learned what songs i know now back then. Kango was one of the few musicians i know to this day that had that god given talent or whatever you want to call it. Sadly, things overtook Dennis at he let that talent go to waste. Lots of good memories learning songs with him early on. He was so talented, if we were playing for two years it was like he was playing for 10. he just got it, and got it quick.

I lost contact with Dennis over the last few years but i'll always remember sitting around with the tapedeck and kept rewinding those SRV tunes and haveing alot of laughs. Me and my brother could get him laughing so hard. thats what i'll remember.

i know theres a couple of guys on here from jtown that knew kango and thought i'd let you know.

RIP Bro.

He was a great friend to me as well.
I jammed with him in my first band Gehenna.
It is no lie that he was extremely talented. I remember I lent him one of my GUITAR for the practicing musician mags with Steve Vai tune in it.
He had it down the next day. Then he did the same with Eric Johnson's Cliffs of Dover. He was leaps and bounds beyond any guitar players in J-town at that time.
I'd even say he was one of the best in the state.
YES HE WAS THAT GOOD. I learned so much jamming with him.

I had not spoke to him in years other than running into him at Shitz.

I'll never forget those days.

RIP "KANGO"
