I've had all 3, PS3, 360, and Wii. Sold the Will after about 2 months of having it, just got boring, the only game i played was Tiger Woods. I still have the PS3 and 360, and I'm just being honest, the PS3 rarely gets turned on. The lack of blockbuster games that are exclusive to the PS3 is shocking. The only games that are worth it to me are Metal Gear Solid, Ratchet and Clank, and coming up God of War 3. But the 360 has a ton, and even when games are made for both systems, they seem better on the 360 (probably because when made for both systems, the developers can't take advantage of the PS3's raw power).
Yes you must pay for an XBox Live account ($50 a year) but it's worth it. The online multiplayer service is just a much more pleasant experience with the 360. The PSN (playstation network) to me just seems like an old PC game multiplayer lobby where it's brutally obvious that you're connecting to their servers and is much less intuitive.
So I guess I just spent about 10 minutes writing this to say... In my opinion, the 360 is the way to go ( assuming you have a HDD)

If I ever see an amputee getting hanged... I'm just gonna start yelling out letters...
PS3 is a better piece of hardware and a standard for BluRay players. Also, I have friends who are on their fifth Xbox because of their overall quality. I will be going the PS3 route in the near future once the price drops again.ToonaRockGuy wrote:I'm gonna have to say PS3. I sell all 4 systems (PS3, 360, Wii, and PS2), and I say the PS3 gives you the most bang for the buck. Why?
1. Better processor speed and better graphics. No other system has the horsepower that a PS3 has, period.
2. Bluetooth. The PS3 is a Bluetooth system You can use your cellphone's bluetooth earpirce to talk to gamers online. Much easier than the clunky 360 headset.
3. WiFi. PS3 is WiFi ready, unlike the 360, which requires the $100 wireless adapter, sold seperately.
4. BluRay. PS3 is a BluRay player, and upconverts standard DVD to 1080p hi def.
5. Memory. The PS3 standard is 80GB. You can upgrade that with any 2.5 inch internal hard drive, so space is up to you.
6. Internet browsing. PS3 comes with a built in browser, and antivirus.
7. Online gaming. No, you can't play Halo3. But online gaming is totally FREE on PS3. No cards for membership, ever.
So there you go. PS3 FTW. BTW, I'm posting this from my 160GB PS3. *wink*

The 360 and the wii have to have extra things that you buy seprately to watch movies.
a 360 will play dvds right out of the box.
i like alot of the 360 games, so i'd say go for a 360. make sure it has a hard drive and get him xbox live. it's only like 50 bucks for a year long subscription.
I think it is stupid they charge to play online.
