No folks.... they weren't screwing each other... Just the American People!
Long live Bush! Bush is good! Kerry plays the skin flute! Bush is the man with a plan. Kerry flops around like a flacid penis... Bush doesn't! I like to ramble but I still like Bush! Bush haters are gay.... prove that they're not! Kerry is fugly, Bush isn't! Bush is cool.... Kerry isn't! These are my opinions so I can say what I want!
Ron Jeremy for President! He likes Bush too!
Just in.... Kerry and Edwards caught in perverse sex scandal
Mentally or physically? Just my way of participating in the incessant rambling of political opinion that has obviously taken over what used to be a forum built buy live MUSIC lovers for .... music lovers.stonekrow wrote:I bet president Bush is proud to have a supporter like you, are you 12?
The fact that I choose to ramble immaturely, only signifies my opinion of the maturity level of most users involved in the political discussions on this forum. While I support everyones right for freedom of speech, and the right to express opinion in any fashion, I am repeatedly disappointed each time I visit ROCKPAGE to find yet another political discussion. I would give anything for a good topic focusing on anything musical. Since that obviously isn't going to happen, and I can't think of anything to post, I figure I'll just post anything to signify the stupidity involved in these political threads.....
Is that okay StoneKrow?
Well, we cover everything from Tool to System of a Down, Godsmack, Rage, Coal Chamber, Taproot, Trapt, Disturbed and a bunch of stuff I cant think of right now, also a few originals that have a Godsmack feel to them. We founded the band back in 97' and played all the major spots in Johnstown, Ebensburg, Altoona, Somerset, Meyersdale, and a few one timer gigs at places in Mt. Pleasant, State College, Indiana, probably some more that I cant think of. I left the band for 2 years to go a little heavier with another band and write some material but parted ways with them a short while back. I was still cool with my old bandmates, we stayed in touch and after talking to the guys we decided to put a reunion show together and have fun with it like we used to in the past. It's actually very refreshing to just have a good time and play some songs with good friends and not have it turn into a 2nd job with all the related stresses. I must admit I burned myself out. If you lose touch with the music and concentrate too heavily on the business aspect it's time to quit. Later.
Sorry buddy, but I have to disagree with you about some of this. I've seen others that were clearly upset post their similar opinions that the politics don't belong on RockPage, but this is the General Discussion area. And, politics affect every aspect of our lives whether we like it or not.GUITARII wrote:Mentally or physically? How much has past political decisions affect us as musicians? I would say that it has significantly affected us with PLCB, lower blood alcohol levels, noise ordinances, etc.
A lot of music that has been written over the years has had political messages and undertones. Just like Love and Religion, politics influence who we are and what we are passionate about.
For those that still think that this is a site dedicated to music, then take a look at some topics that have been covered on Rockpage. Seriously, beans and ass-sweat soup may be funny, but really don't hold to the whole theory of musical discussions (okay, maybe the beans do).
One other thing I would like to point out is that one thread had more people view it than any other in recent times. It directly tied into live music in the Altoona area. Over 1200 hits on that topic - yet the moderater shut it down because it ran it's course. But?? That was a topic that relates to what Rockpage is supposed to be about. I really don't get that.
And, I have to admit that the political topics are a hell of a lot more interesting than many of the music topics.

point taken brutha.... I guess looking back on it, I was more annoyed with the I'm right, you're wrong bashing and not the political discussion. Instead of viewing each point as emphatically as I should have, I was blinded but the stupidity of others (or my opinion of their opinion).
Thinking of the other topics... you have a really good point. There's not a whole lot of musical discussion on the page at all yet I find most of it enjoyable.... I guess the politics just frustrates me more though others enjoy the constant bickering and debating.
Great points!!
