WPSU Record Sale
Anyone go to this on Saturday? I did, got some great stuff like a Dickie Betts album (never played it looks like), an awesome live Rory Gallagher (love that song Moonchild), Roy Buchanan Livestock, that Phil Spector-produced Christmas album (don't laugh its supposed to be a classic) in perfect condition, and a sort of weird Spirit album (Randy California was a great name for a rock star especially when Jimi Hendrix names you that when you're a star-struck kid with a guitar backstage) others I can't remember right now. I liked this sale because there were so many obscure records there, not the same old crap.

I had learned about this sale the day before from the folks at Arboria Records, but already had stuff going on for Saturday and couldn't attend. Probably just as well, I probably would have spent most of my next paycheck there (I usually buy at least 4 or 5 used vinyl albums at Arboria every month when I deliver magazines there).

Never heard that, but they are an old band, its possible. They did 'Nature's Way' and 'I Got a Line on You'. The guitarist Randy California, besides being named by Hendrix, was a hero by saving his young son's life (drowning in the surf in Hawaii) and he died doing it.
