Hate is such a real word to be tossed around by such a middle of the road dude like you Paul.
Christ people i didn't wish the dudes dead or say anything bad about their skills.I mearly said MY OPINION is that dudes who dress up and pout look silly.Once again just MY OPINION but in true RP tradition an opinion is nothing to be proud of.I'm sorry you dudes are the best in the world.rock on.everybody feel better now?good.
Well, the thread wasn't even soliciting your opinion. It was a fan of the band looking for information. There's nothing wrong with having an opinion. I'm not big on HF1's wig thing either, but as Fourth Dimension said, it's their thing. I know that Jimi Hatt doesn't don his kilt and wig because he has delusions of grandeur and rock stardom. The way your opinion was stated was what ruffled people's feathers. You can say that people are just being too PC about it, but, considering how long you've been on this planet, if you haven't learned that tact (there's tact again) goes a long way, then there's no point in trying to explain it. I remember we had a phone conversation about three years ago, and 75% of it was you bashing other local musicians - many whom are my personal friends - and the other 25% was spent about you telling me how much of a kick ass guitar player you are. If that's how you want to live you're life, then more power to you. It's just not my thing.

Another thing...I don't kiss ass, but I do give credit where it's due. The Hair Force cats have busted their nuts for everything they achieved - their keyboardist toured with Yngwie, while the rest of us were sitting here in our PJs, arguing covers vs. originals or bitching about politics. While I don't completely dig everything that they're about, I definitely tip my hat to them for what they've done.

Oh man, here I am caught up in Rockpage drama. I didn't deal with this much drama in junior high.

kid 1 "my dad can lift both his harleys"
kid 2: thinks a minute and says " my mom's better than your mom "
kid 1: "That's what my dad said too"

Victor, great to hear that HF1 will be doing a show this year. My old guitar player, Aaron Kerr, loved catching you guys out and he can still, to this day recite blow for blow the story of how he busted his balls to learn "Sweet Child O' Mine" to jam with you guys at Hitchfest a couple years back but passed out from too much white lightning before you guys took the stage. Classic stuff.

As far as the wig thing goes, I can totally relate. I was lead singer for One-Eyed Jack and I had about a half dozen different wigs that I used from show to show. I didn't do it because we were performing an 80s revue though. I did it to set us apart from the dozen other cover bands and to play up the big 'rockstar' stage image like an actor would have a role in a play. We were also successful, on a smaller scale and packed bars throughout Western MD. I stopped doing it last year for a bit and I actually had many people approach me with questions from "Are you the new lead singer?" to "What happened to your hair?"

Regardless, I'm digressing here. The purpose of my post was to pitch in my 2 cents and say I'm glad to hear you guys are taking the stage again. I will definitely pass along the news to Aaron if he doesn't already know and hopefully the band I'm playing for now will have that weekend off so that I can make the trip and catch your show.

Wow. This thread is getting lively. First, I'd like to take the time to say one thing to the folks who have either said the clothes suck in general or that we don't need them at all. The main phrase to remember here is "tribute band." And as such, we also pay tribute to the fashion of the day. Do I think we're good enough without it? Damn right and I'd say it to anyone. However, we have always been a band that prided ourselves with being good at the music, but also giving people a visual show as well. Nothing wrong with having your cake and eating it too.

I for one found HF1 to be a very entertaining band...in music and stage presence. Hearing a band play music like that and be dressed to match it...well, that just makes for a damn good time in my book!! For three hours I forgot all about my troubles today and remembered a more carefree time in my life.

I think they BLOW !!!

I think they BLOW !!! Wigs and torn clothes to pretend to be someone else? Come on guys how about an original thought... White Devil I respect what you say, if these guys had to write and original to save their lives , could they ? and the singer standing on monitors in his Jesus Christ pose , I just threw up a little in my mouth. cover bands are what they are but to pretend to be an 80's rockstar is another and after meeting the singer I'm not sure he knows he's pretending.

Thanks for the publicity. Good or bad, you're still talking about us. Thanks again.

Some of you guys have such huge e-peens, you don't even have to stick a cucumber down the front of your pants.

With all the damn comments that get tossed out while you're hiding behind your little 17 inch crt monitor from the early 90s, really makes me wonder if any of these people would have the balls to say what they say in 'REAL LIFE' in front of the persons they're talking about. It's such a shame that people have to come on here and rant and rave about things you should just not put out there. For fucks sake, be a man, suck it up. Or at least have the balls to say it to their face.

Well, I just looked up 'respect' on wikipedia. It said the page was no longer available.

Victor is 100% right, publicity is publicity. I was never into 80's myself. Hell, i make fun of it most of the time. But guess what, these guys do what they love, and are very good at doing it. I could never make fun of that.
