No, you were just hijacking this thread, and I was trying to get it to page 12. Good day, sir.DrumAndDestroy wrote:we can probably be sarcastic with each other until the cows come home. i guess this means i'm gay![]()
Where do you think the music scene is headed in Altoona?

You both hijacked this thread! I took it to new heights about 100 posts ago!!XlifeNexus wrote:No, you were just hijacking this thread, and I was trying to get it to page 12. Xlife, what band are you in? Just curious.
Dear Herman,
You seem to have mixed vagueness with a bit of braggadocio. That combination will bring out frustration on ANY talk forum. And frustration can turn into attacks.
Altoona attitude ? Area musicians are passionate about their music, but not all of them have ever been out to see what it's like to "make it" in the rest of the USA. So there may be it bit of naivety on their part, and you should recognise that by some posts, yet you should not point it out either directly or indirectly.
There are ALL ages on here, and if you have regularly dealt with all ages of musicians, you should expect a maturation progression form newbie to cockiness to maturity.
Given that, and with your experience, you should be teaching them, not pointing out their faults, but nurturing their strengths. THAT is what I would expect if you are what you say you are.
Altoona attitude ? Cynicism will exist everywhere. When someone presents them selves as a potential savior to a music scene he will be questioned. You should expect that as part of the territory when you present yourself as someone who can help . Because the first questions center around, "How" ? And if you are vague in your answers - as in - I can help, trust me, I have connections, but I'm not going to be clear on how I'm going to help you - anyone would expect cynicism WILL turn into attacks. Anywhere, not just in Altoona.
So Herman, if you want to help the local music scene, try some simple statements with concrete methods and ideas and plans.
Thank you.

When it comes down to helping someone in need, NO other area beats the Central PA area musicians ! We are do-ers, not talkers...RobTheDrummer wrote:Yea, this show will show the solidarity of our scene. Also, the benefit on the 24th will do the same!Hawk wrote:Rob and I were talking last night.
