The end of John & Kenny

Post by facingwest »

Here goes some unfortunate news for everyone. Two weeks ago, Kenny approached me that he was pulling out of music to settle down with his girlfriend that he met 6 months ago. The projects he was in were Retro Active, Right Side Thief (This was a studio project), and John & Kenny Acoustic Duo. It really saddens me to see this end, however it's his choice and I wish the best for him.

When he told me he was quitting, he put in writing that he would stick it out until I either found someone to replace him or just do it on my own. One thing led to another last night and I let him go early.

I can't thank everyone enough for all the support you've shown us and am glad to see how far a two man act went in such a short period of time. With that said, my days here in PA are limited because over the weekend I got a call from Irish Kevin's to come down and be on the full time staff there. I'll probably be making the move at the end of the year if all goes well.

I am still going to try and honor all the dates booked with the duo as well as hold on to the sponsorship with Jagermeister.

Again, thank you all for everything and I am forever greatful.

BUMMER!! I can't believe it! This area will miss you both tremendously, as will I, and I wish you the absolute best of luck. Thanks for opening up so many places, and blazing the trail for the rest of us flat-toppers.---->JMS

Man, that sucks! Jager has a bunch of good people working for them. You'll be able to hold the sponsorship. Go it it solo...good luck with whatever you decided to do. Take care man.

I'ts sad to see something like this come about, but sometimes hard decisions have to be made right or wrong.

I'll miss both your antics on stage, you always brightened the day for everyone.

If Shooters is still on I'll have to make it a point to be there on Tuesday! Jager in hand !!!

Holy Crap! This is a serious shock, and has bummed me out for the day!! Not only do we lose Kenny, we lose John to Irish Kevin's as well?? Oh, crap. I'm gonna go be bummed out now. But, on the good side, I did have a great time jamming with you guys at The Hitching Post and out at J'Town Brewing Company, too! Thanks for the memories! My best to ya!

Like the afore mentioned, this sucks!

However, I sort of knew about this before Rockpage did. It did come as a shock. And I have to agree with ToonaRockGuy. Losing John to Key West is going to suck more than a whore on nickle night!!

Oh well.

Until John leaves, I am still going to take every chance to go and see his solo performace. For those of you who never saw J and K, you missed your chance. For those of you who haven't seen John - stop pussy-footing around and get out there before you miss this chance for good too!

Make sure to keep us informed about where you are playing so we can still catch you here and there. Any chance of a final show with you and Kenny advertised big as the last hoorah? We could try and get all the rockpage peeps out for a big party, just a thought?

This is terrible news. I can't believe it. But I guess all good things must come to an end sometime. I'm gonna miss seein guys out there having fun. The idea of a farewell show before John leaves is a good one. I know I would be there. Good luck to both you guys.

I wish that were possible, but I really doubt it's going to happen. I honestly thought Kenny and I would be two musicians that would play for years and years. It's a damn shame he chose between music and settling down to a 6 month relationship, which is totally his business and I wish the best for him. Kenny is talented and young and I hope someday he decides to come back out and play again. I will continue to do the shows there were booked until I find out what's going on for the plans of moving to Key West.

Yeah.. I think I'm cursed. I fall in love with bands and they break up. Acid Reflux has had a change of line up. John and Kenny a change in line up. Deviance a change in line up. Ever Since Yesterday...change. Hair Force 1...change...Grimm...change... ::shakes her head:: I oughtta stay home more. ::quick glance towards Never Enuff:: Don't get any idears! (lol tony)

Anywho. We all love ya John. Wish nothing but the best for Kenny. ::sniffles:: I'm going to seriously miss my Motel 6 theme song he'd always play for me. And we'll definitely be down to visit ya in Florida.
You're right Dw...Accoustic fusion at it's peak...AWESOME! I miss those nights.

Don't worry Lisa we will give you a warning first, before we break up we are gonna change the name from "Never Enough" to " Had Enough" and play under that for awhile.

About 10 years ago, I was in a band where the members told me never to lend the keyboard player any equipment such as mics and stuff because he found a new use for them. See the horrid memories you make me remember? Heh
