Yeah, this is a tech sector Q probably. There is a thread somewhere in there about this already.

Probably older ones than that too.. thats just the last one I remember...

I haven't played thru my rig in many many months, but I'm in love with my Ampeg SVT-4 thru a Schroeder 1212R and a Low Down Sound 3x8. I don't run thru any effects at the moment, but I've had nasty hankerins for a loop station and an EBS Stanley Clarke Wah and Valvedrive.

My main monster is a purple Spector NS5CRFM. I also wank on my Jap Tune Zi-II 6, a Spector BOB 4, a Warmoth/Moses fretless 4 string mutt, and a Yamaha TRB-6P. I have some non-functional projects like a Gibson Explorer Shadow, a Bogart headless graphite 5, and a flamed koa Carvin LB76F, but they'll likely get sold when finished, so keep an eye out for the ads!

Hartke Kickback-12.

Nice power and bass for a small amp and we like to pack up fast but not always the best for all types of tone. I recently took a tiny Vox 15 watt practice amp to a clubby gig which demanded very low volume and tone wise, it blew the Hartke away.

I'm really, really digging this Mesa/Boogie 400+ that Dusty (EyesOfAnguishbassist) sold me. I haven't played through an all-tube head for about seven years, so it's kind of like a new experience for me. This thing is very musical, and despite the stereotype of tube bass amps producing that dirty, grindy tone, it's quite clean. The bottom-end is pretty big while still remaining tight. There's no boom or mud. The high-end isn't quite as detailed as my solid-state equipment, but I actually think that it's voiced quite nicely. There's a nice presence without all of the finger noise that often comes with the higher frequencies. The mids are smooth and sit very well in the mix. With a parametric EQ, a graphic EQ, and push/pull pots, there is a lot of opportunity to find a good sound for any room. However, even with all of those EQ options, I found it very easy to find a usable tone. It's not like I had to spend 45 minutes during soundcheck twisting knobs.

In my opinion, the most valuable feature of this amp is a high resistance DI that comes AFTER the output transformer. I was wondering if I was going to have to mic my cabs if I wanted to send a tube sound to the FOH (two mics for my 4x10s, since they're rear ported), but I don't have to do that with the DI!

It has a gassy tube, which I'm replacing later this week. Other than that, it has played two solid gigs already. Greg from Knight Sound told me after the gig on Sunday that he really dug it, and everyone in the band seems really impressed with it.

I'm floored by my new Avatar 2x12 cabinet. :)

I'm just worried it won't be loud enough, but its really clear with no boomy muddy mess that many cabinets have.

I really like the voice of 12's with bass. I think I'm going to put a 2x10 on top of the 2x12 and call it done as far as cab purchases.

I wish bergantino still made the HT322.. I heard they discontinued it.

Hey Rob. I'll have to try this bad boy out some time. Is it the Neo drivers? I actually have a 210/410 Avatar setup but liked the sound of a 212 Avatar I used to own.

I'd love to hear what a 2x10 stacked on top of this sounds like. I'm free a bit toward the end of next week :)
