How close are they to a filibuster-proof majority? Isn't it just Franken to make it so? I've heard talk radio pooh-poohing it all day, so it must have some effect. --->JMS

0 seats away, that is assuming that Al Franken will win his race. Therefore the D's can stop a R filibuster.

That could be a good move or bad move, depending on how public opinion goes over the next year. If there's a public backlash against Obama, the pendulum may swing far right as it did when it swung far left due to the Bush administration's poor public opinion.

Hellyeah! Where's friggin Robin Hood when you need him?

But if we keep taking from the rich, who will own business? Well I guess the Feds will have to step up, and take control of that too.

I don't listen to Rush. But I do read history. And its the same propaganda message that's been around for generations. Eat the Rich.

And yes Im a member of the working class ( at least I think I am, I haven't received my card or the free subscription yet. )

Do the rich care about me? Probably not. Why should they? They have their own to be worried about as do I.

Do I pay taxes? Yup every week and every year. Take a guess where my tax refund is going to be spent this year...give up? Property taxes. Funny how that works. Oh, and rich people pay taxes too. Even with the Bush tax cuts, they're paying more taxes than you and I together. (Assuming you paid yours)

Now I have some questions for you.

Have you ever worked for a poor person?

How much money does a person have to make in a year before you consider them rich?

Chew on that for a while. Right now I'm off to blindly serve the Bourgeoisie. But I'll check back later.

That pretty much sums it up.

Edit:

That, and the fact that he was going to have his head handed to him in the primary.

I understand the point you are making with this rhetorical question. However, how about this counter-question: If a number of low-to-middle class people own stock in a company, are you still working for a "rich person"? Not everyone who owns a business is a sole proprietor.

I have nothing against rich people. I've never wanted to be rich. Living under the poverty line sucks though, as well. My main point, though, is that Eat The Rich was a pretty cool Aerosmith tune.

so you are not rich but you feel for those that are RICH and pay their tax. you wish THEIR tax burden to be less?
however, whatever paltry refund you get goes back to the 'state' in the form of another tax so essentially you get no relief but you are ok with this?

where are you coming from man? you shpould be championing tax relief for the WORKING CLASS because that's what's YOU are!
