I don't think you could get more diverse a roster than SoFar's two days...Everything from a Native American flute performer (Danuwa) to the insane sonic catharsis that was Figures Falling Between to Forgotten Twigs, and just about everything in between!

My favorite highlights had to be the Chris Vipond & the Stanley Street Band's community jam session on Friday night (with members of Major Malfunction sitting in), and Phobos Anomaly's performance Friday as well.

But it was all good, and hats off to Harlo again for providing this opportunity for so many different acts and styles of original music to enjoy some time in the spotlight. I only wish more people would have taken the opportunity to sample this free musical entertainment!

My son and I greatly enjoyed SoFar (or is it now SFar??? :) ). He did not have school on Friday, and we went to the Penn State Altoona campus for the Earth Day activities and SoFar on Friday. At the time I had no idea of the SoFar schedule or when it was due to start. We just missed the Drum Circle, and stayed until we had to leave at 4:15 or so for his baseball practice. I went back in time for Mystery Train's set. We went over on Saturday afternoon after his game. I enjoyed seeing/hearing ALL of the Musicians and Bands I was able to both days, before the cold and fatigue, respectively, took their toll on me. However, on Friday, The Bridal Chamber's 'sound check', the young man with the tunes re: high school (Thomas really liked that one!) and a pre-nup (I really liked that one! :D ), Mystery Train and the CV & the SSB/Major Malfunction jam stand out. FedUp, DSP, CV & the SSB and Samarra stand out on Saturday. I/we rather enjoyed the Tunes Harlo played both days, too! Possibly if it had not been on the same weekend as the Blue and White Game at University Park more would have attended. Imo, all those who did not attend any part of it missed out on enjoying GREAT Tuneage in a beautiful, Peaceful setting!

Was fun and everything went right on schedule. There was actually a pretty decent pit going for Drain the Sorrow. Got to meet a new RockPager as well (Rickster). Pretty cool guy, and I had agreat time. The Dick ShAck Tailgate Party In the Parking Lot was a good time too!!!

Good job on SoFar Harlo, great tunes and vibe. I liked the poetry reading too....and you couldn't have been luckier with the weather! I find it disappointing that from what I witnessed very little students attended. Disappointed and puzzling, considering the music was eclectic, something for everybody and many of them are a captive audience. Things sure have changed on college campuses regarding live music. I guess cooped up in their dorms with their techno toys is a bigger draw. B & W game could be a factor but I really do think these kids are into a different scene that doesn't so much embrace nature and 'real' music. Oh no, now I sound like someone's mom. Kids these days....

I'll go with the Blue and White Game theory.

I stopped in for a few of the bands and kept an eye on the Pens game at the same time.
