Huntin n Fishin

Post by ACE_HUNTR »

I am new to this area and new to this forum, I am a huge Nugent fan and I feel that huntin and fishin and music are all very similar, I just moved here from Anawalt West Virginia, my pap died and left me his trailer in Ansonville Pa. I am surrounded by woods on 3 sides and I can't wait to start wackin them deer, I hunt turkey , deer, grouse and pheasant mostly but I will go out for anything if I get a chance, I love to eat wild game, my favorite thing is bow huntin cause you have to stock rather than sit in a tree and wait, rub some TINX on your shoes and you can walk right up on them. a guy at the store told me about Elk in Benezette so my boy and I are goin to go there this Sunday, I play guitar and some fiddle but the fiddle is more a joke its hard to play. I hope y toget to know you guys and make some friends, if anyone hunts let me know and I will hunt with you.

If you are going to Benezette on Sunday take your rod with you as there is a lot of good fishing up in that direction. We have a camp in Potter county which is about an hour from Benezette. Kettle creek is a good fishing creek. There is also Bush dam in that area. Stephensons dam, First fork, another good creek in that area. Get a map there are a lot of good fishing spots near Benezette, plus the elk are all over the place up there. If you like the outdoors you will love it up there.

the little clearfield is a very good spot not to far from you in new millport which is like 5 minutes from you. If you come back into Irvona you have North and South Whitmer and Hockenberry run which are all state stocked and the Glendale Sportmans stocks them. They pick a run every week and stock it.

false. As probably the biggest redneck on this board I'm gonna call fake poster. Very entertaining though! Kudos!!!

I will be fishing a trout tournament on N. Whitmer Run in two weeks though. If you're somehow seriously a real person and wanna catch a ton of fish and probably win some money ( I won around 500 bucks last year) send me a pm. I'm always looking for a fishing buddy. We can even listen to the Nuge the whole time. I'm a big fan of uncle Ted! :thumleft: :rambo: :fish: :thumright:

Dirty,
you'll have to let me know when you go up to the whitmers. I go up there very often as i am originally from up that way. I will be fishing whitmer on sat. My favorite is Hockenberry run, very small gotta walk quite a ways to get to some of the good spots but very worth while.

I usually take the nephew to the Kids derby up there which is Memorial day weekend (Sun. May 24th) they have a blast. And man do they catch some big fish. Its always a good time to go up the day after the derby and use dog food as bait u can catch them left and right!!

Yeah I fished N.Whitmer where Hockenberry runs in and I caught a pile of'em. You should enter the tournament. It's a blast. I'll actually be up there tomorrow to pay my entry fee and take the fly rod for a walk. Lots of guys will be out turkey hunting, so the stream should be nice and quiet.

I think ol' Ace has got deer hunting mixed up with cow hunting. Stalking with a hammer is my preferred method of baggin cows. Bovine Beater Co. has some great hammers designed just for this purpose. They have them in various weights, sizes and colors. Everything from the traditional iron and wood, (for the purist) to the ultra modern graphite models. The also have a free online news letter available, to keep you abreast of the latest tips and techniques.
