Crosstalk - noise between two or more adjacent channels, probably not a huge concern for you.

Balanced vs. Unbalanced - Balanced would be your typical TRS or XLR jack, 2 conductors and a ground, carrying one signal. Such as a microphone cable. You can have longer cable runs with balanced.

Unbalanced would be typically either an RCA jack or TS jack, consisting of a conductor and a ground. Ok for short cable runs, more prone to picking up noise.

Phantom Power (48v) would be switched on (typically) to operate a condenser microphone.

I'm sure some people will elaborate more but that is to my understanding basically what they are.

the most important things u should really try to become knowlegeable about is gain structure and headroom. Unfortunately many manuals do not offer enough in this department.

The YAMAHA sound reinforcement handbook is a great read and would set u on the right path on everything that is sound reinforcement related.

Jeez, don't base everything off of your experience with a Behringer manual! They're written by people who barely speak English (German designs based on US products, Chinese manufacture), and are absolutely notorious for how bad they are.--->JMS
