Post by Jsun76 »

Whats your favorite?

My vote, Double trouble, Tommy Shannon and Chris Layton. Go.
I'm a drummer...I just hang out with musicians.

Man, if I had to break it down? I'd say that the blues brothers section would be up there. That is the first one that comes to mind .. Of course Brian Setzers rhythm section is pretty good also.

Laugh if you want to, really is kinda funny, 'cause the world is a car and you're the crash test dummy.

What? Carey is by far one of the best drummers, if not the best, of modern contemporary music and this generation. And if you disagree at all with that in the least i will no longer consider anything you say worthwhile.

I think you took that wrong.

I thought the same thing when I saw your post... I thought "Colton must be turning into a blues snob, now he's dissing Tool".
... and then the wheel fell off.

That it's self-evident that Carey is a bad ass drummer...

I'm not Colton, but that's my guess what he meant.
"He's the electric horseman, you better back off!" - old sKool making a reference to the culturally relevant 1979 film.

Colton used to play a ton of tool. He loves tool, just so you know!

Anyways, anything Gadd was involved with is a hell of a rhythm section.

One of the classic rhythm sections is Donald "Duck" Dunn on bass and Steve Cropper on rhythm guitar (almost always a strat). This team was part of Booker T. and the M. G's. Their classic song is "Green Onions", thousands of studio cuts and of course, part of the original Blues Brothers Band as mentioned above.

After Cropper and Duck Dunn, the Allman Brothers Band are the smoothest rhythm section ever.

Bob Waters and Jeff Clapper are not too bad either.

Yup .. they were great with the blues brothers as well. I always liked steve cropper's guitar playing ... His song he does with Bob Scaggs is pretty good also -> "loan me a dime"

Four posts before yours I wrote:

Bob is from Altoona, and Jeff is from Bedford, and play exceptionally well in Felix and The Hurricanes. Check em out.
