It's Americanism not racism. Someone please enlighten me on the Muslim religion. If we are concidered infidels because we are not of the Muslim faith then we are considered more or less an enemy to Muslims. Why would I want to be friends with an enemy. Would you be Adolf Hitlers buddy if you were Jewish because someone said it was racist to hate him? Don't keep busting out the Race Card. It doesn't apply here. At least with my views. If someone doesn't respect my culture then don't expect me to respect theirs.

that's just my point. we are considered the enemy because we don't follow the prophet muhamad's teachings. they do want to kill us unless we follow what they want us to. that's a scary thing. that's what the spanish inquisition tried to accomplish but from the christian angle back in the middle ages. had i been alive then, i'd probably feel the same way... except i wouldn't be posting it on an internet forum

Listen to the radio. If you are not a Christian, you are not welcome to have a say in anything. You cannot be a good conservative, nor indeed, a good person. Just because its the same, doesn't make it right either...

Its a sad world we live in when religion is the dictation of our fears and dreams.

Edit: Anyone notice how all the religions that don't, at some point, call for the conversion or destruction of non-believers en masse, aren't really involved in any of this?

Jingosim is just as dangerous, and can be as fervent. Plus, that's
going under the idea that Islam isn't "American". Either is any religion.

I don't think anyone's said it's racism. Prejudice, certainly, but I don't
think a lot of people on here realize that Islam is more fervently held to
in places like Indonesia. Our prevailing, because most people don't know,
idea is that Muslims mostly look like Middle Easterners (You know...Ohio).

The first person I knew well who was Muslim was from Indonesia. Kind
of an odd guy (Well, he was like 18-19, in college). He had NO idea what
direction Mecca was (We all lived in downtown Pittsburgh). To get it right...
some of the time, he prayed in kind of a circle... Each time a little to the
the one side more than the last.

As a matter of fact, it's an absolute in Islam they DO have to respect
different faiths.

I asked a friend to send me the actual texts (No Koran in the house. Do
have a Jehova's WItness...book...somewhere, though). He did...but it's
on my kid's laptop. When he gets home, I can put it up if you'd like. Oh...
and look up Deuteronomy 17...something...in the Bible. It says how anyone
not believing in the "one true God" is to be stoned to death. Christians will,
generally, tell you Jesus took that away. Muslims will tell you Muhummad did
the same thing AND that Jesus did (They believe God send several prophets.
Muhammad is the last of them. I know Seventh Day Adventist who believe
the same thing...only don't include Muhammad). They believe Jesus was born
the same way Christians do, and will return.

They don't "hate" us because "we" have a different belief. Those who have
issues with us is because we've done things like overthrow their democratically
elected officials and put in place dictators like the Shah, then when they
overthrow him, we protect the freak, we put military bases on what they
consider holy ground, we support brutal regimes like Saddam, the Fauds, etc.

We meddle in their lives for our corporations then think they should just
get over it. Cripes, we invaded Iraq based on lies, killed how many of their
people, let terror groups flood in, who killed more of them, etc.

That's why the extremist side has grown a lot in South America where we did
the same thing. You screw with people's lives for so long, you can't expect to
think all that highly of you.

Ah, and soeth appear the lad. My friend sent a lot of stuff. I'm just going to
grab a few parts.

With regards to those who hold other religious beliefs:

"There is no compulsion (or coercion) in the religion (Islam). The
right direction is distinctly clear from error". (2:256)

"God forbids you not, with regards to those who fight you not for
[your] faith nor drive you out of your homes, from dealing kindly
and justly with them; for God loveth those who are just. 60:08)

Regarding violence, such as terrorism:

"Fight in the cause of God against those who fight you, but do not
transgress limits. God does not love transgressors." (Quran 2:190)
"If they seek peace, then seek you peace. And trust in God for He
is the One that heareth and knoweth all things." (Quran 8:61

...and racism:

"O mankind! We created you from a single soul, male and female,
and made you into nations and tribes, so that you may come to know
one another. Truly, the most honored of you in God's sight is the
greatest of you in piety. God is All-Knowing, All- Aware. (49:13)

had to laugh at the ohio bit

on the rest of your post, i think it's more of a "we really don't need religion in the world for it to be good" thing. you mention one of the stoning things from the bible. it also mentions that if any man should have long hair, let him be a shame unto himself... well, i dunno about you, but every picture i see of jesus, he has long hair. the bible also tells us it's ok to sell your daughter into slavery, anyone that works on the sabbath will be damned, and many many other waaaay too extreme rules and laws.

my biggest beef with islam right now is jihad. i mean, come on, really? you guys are wearing sheets and carrying cell phones. isn't it time to be a human instead of an animal? wishing death to infidels and such.

if you can post an english translated koran or quran, i would be more than interested just to read through it and see for myself. it's odd, because what i know of the muslim faith it is supposed to be rather peaceful. but if it is so peaceful, why does so much violence get carried out in the name of muhamad and god?

is it just me or does the first commandment (thou shalt not kill) seem the one that most people are willing to break? and why are they willing to break it? it just dosn't make sense. "hi, i'm god... don't kill anyone, that's a one way ticket to feel satan's wrath of pineapples and hot pokers being shoved up your hiny hole... unless you really have to... aww, hell, unless you want to kill someone. then just do it in my name, and i'll take your side. totally. peace out homey."

is that how that whole convo went? i doubt it.

Well...ya, to me...and it sounds as though to you. I know a lot of people
get strength from their religious beliefs and it helps them cope, etc., and
I very much respect that. It's just that a lot of people from the same
faiths have very different views on the same topics.

I'm related to 7th Day Adventists who've traveled all over teaching. They're
the hardcore kind of 7ths, who worship ("Officially") on Saturday, don't
consider the King James Version "real" (Which I agree with them. When
I learned about who "the" King James was...QUITE a disappointment),
no pork (Which practicing Muslims and Jews follow...Most Christians have discovered "the chop" and the it's proven too much resist), etc.

My Southern Baptist relatives don't believe in drinking, swearing, etc...
but are okay with "the chop", sausage, scrapple, etc. Southerners.

Know "Christians" who do all the "bad" stuff but that it's okay because,
as one of them told me in a BAD drunk state "Some guy died 2000 years
ago for my sins so I'm okay if I ask him to forgive me tomorrow.". He
then asked me if I knew who that guy was. Forget who I said...but it
confused him mightily. Drunk people are funny...or completely annoying.

Anyway, when anyone tries to force their religion on others under any
circumstance, I have an issue with it. We're a secular society and as
long as the religious folk of any ilk respect us infidels/heathens right to not practice,
things should be fine.

I don't mind them trying to sell me on it, within reason, and, obviously, I
love a good religious discussion...but if they push it, be prepared for Bible/
Koran/Torah funfacts. Actually, I'm not as up on the Torah as prolly
should be...but I am partial to the Gods with multiple arms...They make
the most luminescent lamps. 8 arms? Hot dog, that's 8 100watt bulbs!

Oh, and next time a couple of Mormon kids knock on your door, be sure
to tell them you're an Atheist. The LOOK is great. I do also make sure to
tell them I respect and appreciate that they live what they say. Not sure
which shocks them more. Christians
are all supposed to witness...but it's pretty rare to find ones that do.

Or the misguided idea that there actually IS one. The extremist may be
a threat...the religion is not. S.S.' point is real. We have an issue with
one religion while another is all but requirement for acceptability, especially
for holding public office.

Ok,but if the extremist are commiting these acts in name of their religion where does that leave us?You certaintly can't profile for "swarthy men in dirty nightshirts that are unshaven".Christ man, you're acting like since the 7 Muslims you went to college and worked at fricken stereo store with weren't "extremist" anybody who dares mention otherwise is a bigot.
When Christains start to blow themselves up in bus stations in the US taking 25 other innocent folks with them, then that argument will hold water for me.

Sure, Joe, I can provide a source. The other day on Gary Dull's radio show, he mentioned that YOU specifically, were in the chat room. My source for "delusion" is the same as YOURS. Gary Dull is Blair County's self-appointed moral compass... he's a Baptist preacher, and fits that old joke: "Did you hear the Baptists leadership came out against premarital sex? They were afraid it would lead to dancing."
Gary never ever talks about God's love, or comfort, or strength. He only talks about judgement and vengeance... as he is without sin (we all have skeletons in the closet, and I know what his are).
I understand that you're being facetious and turning tables about being delusional because I called you out on your stretched-tight paranoia and I'm okay with that becau---
Oh, my God, Joe, Hussein's right behind you! He's coming right at you! Quick, get to the bunker!!

So in your delusion, Gary Dull can keep someone out of public office?? You are missing sleep because Christian ogres like Gary Dull are the all powerful radio nazis? If all of your posts about the powerful Christian radio shows that keep poor little guys like you down are based on Gary Dull and his silly little 5 hours a week, in little ole Altoona, Pa., then you are the craziest conspiracist I have ever heard about.

Watch out non-Christian world, here comes Gary Dull and his evil Christian Army, dominating 5 hours a week, in Blari County, Pa. Gary Dull and his Christian followers will take over the world in no time.

Johnny, you better hurry and form a counter army to save all the non-Christians in the world. Do not let Gary Dull get carried away, he could take over the world.

BTW, I was in the chat room that day early, I usually go in during the John McGinnis show, and all of the people in there make fun of Gary anyway. I suggest you listen to John McGinnis on WRTA, he is a Libertarian and is a great admirer of Ron Paul.

Christians don't blow themselves up. They don't have a martyrdom clause to get to Heaven, killing yourself is a sin.
They blow other people up. They seduce them into drinking poison Flavor-Aid or shooting at federal agents by playing on their religiousity. Don't try the "they're not really Christians" defense, because terrorists aren't really Muslim by that definition.
I taught Sunday School, and I seem to remember stuff in the Bible like "love thy neighbor," "thou shalt not kill," and "turn the other cheek." See? Religion is wide open to interpretation. That's why Gary Dull (yes, that's his real name, not my nickname for him, I don't find self-importance dull at all) is a Baptist preacher, and not a Unitarian. You find the interpretation that fits you, and go with that. There may be only one God, but there are millions of interpretations to help you bend so-called "absolutes" to what you want Him to be.
Incidentally, whitedevilone, you wouldn't want Gary to show up at a gig. He'd be gunning for YOU, and your Godless rock and roll. Yes, he still preaches against rock music.--->JMS

Now, Joe, if I listen to Gary, wouldn't it makes sense that I listen to McGinnis? He's not as much Libertarian as Anarchist, he doesn't believe in taxation of any kind for any reason. He's a brighter guy than the former, but far more authoritarian, if that's possible. He's not just an economist, he's THE economist. Of course, he still thinks Reaganism worked, so you take that with a grain of salt.
No, Joey, Gary Dull cannot keep someone out of office. He can get on the evening news at will, though. He can organize rallies against gay marriage or beer in Sheetz, or a strip club, or whatever he feels will get him some press. He owns the bully pulpit, 5 hours a week on the local propaganda channel, plus several hours a week in an actual pulpit preaching politics and religion as if they're mutally acceptable. He's as dangerous as anyone is. By himself he's some dumbass schmuck who makes your eyes roll so hard you'll get vertigo... but he's not alone, is he? Well your own words said that these Christians on the radio will keep someone out of office if they do not them. Can you give me another radio person besides Gary Dull who has the power to keep people out of public office????? Gary was the only example you gave.

If you think that Reagan economics did not work, then there is no hope of ever talking any sense to you. Lowering taxes is what got us out of the "malaise" of the Jimmy Carter double digit inflation and double digit unemployment. The problem occurred when Ron did not veto the incredible spending bills sent to him by Congress. But when R. R. lowered the top tax rates from 70% to 28%, the total intake by the treasury increased about 50%.

I know, speaking of lowering taxes is very scary to you liberals.

Oh, and you better see B. Hussein as a threat. He is the most dangerous man ever in that office. He is taking this country faster to Fascism than anything ever imagined. He is engineering the Federal government take over of the banking system, auto industry and soon the health care industry. Farewell Comrade.

If Christian groups wielded no influence, they wouldn't be so pandered to by
the Republican party. It's pretty common knowledge that if a Repub doesn't

Mitt Romney SHOULD have been loved by Repubs..but he's the "M" word.

religious media is still media.

Reagan raised taxes every year he was in office except the first. He put
a plan to cut taxes in place is '81, then spent the next 7 raising them to
stop the hemorrhage. Reagan's "Tax cuts" are just another of the myths
about the guy who funneled weapons to Iran to fund a private war. AND,
ballooned the deficit all the while.

He is engineering the Federal government take over of the banking system, auto industry and soon the health care industry. Farewell Comrade.

Does Gary Dull and his "listeners" belong to the A.F.A., Christian Coalition,
The Family, etc., et.c, etc.?

If Christian groups wielded no influence, they wouldn't be so pandered to by
the Republican party. It's pretty common knowledge that if a Repub doesn't
have these groups and their backing, they don't win federal office.

Mitt Romney SHOULD have been loved by Repubs..but he's the "M" word.

see? without religion...

this is why i'm libertarian. i don't want any "god sent me to blah blah shit in a hat" president or congressmen or senator. fuck that. church and state, separate, nuff said. it shouldn't matter what someone's religion is, because their religion simply shouldn't come into play while they are doing their job. simple as that.

shame it ain't that easy...
