Hey, we agree! I also think that the conservative media was both the reason Bush got a second term AND the backlash that got Obama elected. Now, what can we do about it?--->JMSf.sciarrillo wrote:The Media who tries to run the country and sway user opinion during elections while doing anything they can to get who they want elected - Hence Obama ..

There is no problem with America. America in and of itself is absolutely pure. It is freedom, it is hope, it is opportunity.
The problem is the population and frankly -- there are so many problems that it would take forever to tackle them all. I think our biggest problem however is our inability to actually look at the constitution and say "you know what -- this document is over 200 years old, and well... perhaps there are some things here that were good for us then, but may not be good for us now." Our problem is that we have a large percentage of this country who are afraid of change -- and by "change" I don't mean a shift to the other side of the pendulum, I mean advancing further than where we have been for 200 years.
Another one of our biggest problems is that we're a lazy people with an undeserved sense of entitlement. We feel that everything is supposed to be given to us on a silver platter instead of actually working for it. The American Dream was provided to us by millions of europeans who came here and busted their asses working sun up to sun down executing out back breaking labor only to have this process become raped by a generation of self-important twats who expect craigslist and monster.com to give them their share of the dream -- and when it doesn't, they run to their county in hopes that there's some form of social services that can make up for it.
This lazyness has also ruined the ingenuity that America was once known for. We didn't invent the wheel or build the pyramids, but this country was once a bastion of progress. We invented the Automobile, the Computer, and the vast majority of the very inventions that we take for granted every day -- yet somewhere after ENIAC was turned on, we became complacent, and now India, China, and Japan do our inventing for us. We also used to have an educational "American Dream" but in the past 50 or so years our education system has been pillaged by teachers who don't care, or politicians who don't feel that education is worth all that much, or parents who fail to properly provide their children the proper upbringing. This is my opinion as to why we are ranked in the twenties worldwide in regards to studies. I'm sorry but the stupidest person in the United States of America (Sean Hannity or Rush Limbaugh probably qualify here) should be exponentially smarter than the smartest person in all of Latvia, NOT the other way around.
We could also tackle religion, but i don't feel like typing any more.

...most people don't have the 1st clue about what the Constitution is or what its primary function is or what the intended role of the federal government is versus the state governments...
...because of this, people look to DC to solve every problem that comes down the pike when 95% of these problems were intended to be solved in the state capitols or the town councils...
...and because of the escalation of debt resulting from DC throwing money at every whiney little problem they hear about...
...I estimate about 3-4 years before the credit imbalance and flood of recently printed money will bring this country to its freakin' knees. The dollar will only be worth a peso.
Those who aren't prepared will have to settle for a set of Chinese kneepads.

It's funny that you mention greed, that goes hand in hand with Obamer's handouts...yet they are supposedly "good" for the country.JackANSI wrote:idiots....
both in charge and in the observation posts.
edit:
oh yeah... most of all: greed over all else.
I guess it's a bad thing to earn a lot of money because you can and do....the people that don't work and want handouts are the greedy ones, because they don't wanna work for what they wanna get paid.

it's one thing to actually earn it with a hard days work.
that's not greed when you cash your paycheck
it's when you just expect it to be there no matter what that gets my goat....
especially when you got money and you still have your hand out waiting for your free share.
much like the bailout bullshit
that's why I love Mexican workers. you can trust them and they actually do work for their share.
(which I think is a good reason why the Mexican drug trade works better than our efforts to stop it)

What made America the great country it is today? Why are we dismantling it? That's what I wanna know. Where were we the most successful, and where was the point that we went awry?JackANSI wrote:I'm against anything that doesn't benefit mankind as a whole.

there has hardly been a time when there hasn't been problems in the US (or involved with overseas).
there are just more people now and fewer overall opportunities.
discontention with the "American dream" is rampant. which leads to fighting for "my/our piece of the pie".
redefining the American dream is the only way to fix this. if most of an individual's choices were made in favor of the total population instead of how it works best for them (with the attitude of "screw the next guy, not my problem") we'd be in much better shape.
this is not socialism I describe. it's compassionism.
Americans are bred now to make, take, rob, and steal as much money as they can, giving as little as they can for it.
you can only sustain that type of system for a limited time before it collapses on itself
on a side note of foreign policy...
"give your enemy no reason to hate you and he will appear to all as the fool he is"

so-cial-ism
1. a theory or system of social organization that advocates the vesting of the ownership and control of the means of production and distribution, of capital, land, etc., in the community as a whole.
2. procedure or practice in accordance with this theory.
3. (in Marxist theory) the stage following capitalism in the transition of a society to communism, characterized by the imperfect implementation of collectivist principles.
We've already begun the process. Nationalize banks, and corporations. Next is healthcare. What comes after that? Education system, food, YOU.
Socialism has never worked anywhere it has been tried. What makes people think it will work here? Any country that has gone to socialism has gone down the shitter socially and economically....
If you don't think it's coming to this, just read the fucking news once and a while. Every day it's government is "bailout" spending...bailout is a nice way of putting it. Doesn't sound as harsh as nationalizing. Where do they get the money? Oh yea tax the people who make the most, because they worked hard for it. Makes sense, right? They don't need their own EARNED money. We should give it to someone in need, be COMPASSIONATE to the poor man. Had a tough life of drugs and alcohol, lets reward him by giving him hand outs. Makes sense. Robin Hood right? Take from the rich and give to the poor, it's really actually an honorable thing....right? Sounds like a perfect social structure to fuel the economy, take from those who earn and give to those who don't. Tell me something, what do people do with things they are just outright given? They take that shit for granted, that's what they do. They did nothing to deserve it, so they treat it like it doesn't matter because they know they will get more. No incentive, and reward them for doing their drugs. Give them money to blow at the state store and on cigarettes. Hey, at least it comes back to the state one way or another. I could ramble on all night, and no one will read this, but these are a few things that make total sense to me.....I like how anytime anyone makes a really good salary, that somehow they are greedy and are getting it through immoral means. I mean, come on people, they get an education and earn money through intelligence and hard work. Do we really want to take that away from them? I say fuck the poor, sink or swim. The thing is, when the boat is full of sinkers, that boat don't float.
