Who says the scene is dead????

Look at the schedule of bands playing in Altoona tonite

If you can't find your music at a club tonite, then you just aren't trying hard enough.

I hope everyone packs their favorite club to capacity

It's good to see some life in this town on a Friday night. And it's cool to see the new Burgi's under way (I have to get there soon to check it out), and Classic Attitudes running bands again. And City Limits starts Friday bands again this weekend.

Of course, for all these rooms (and everyone else) to continue to host live music, they need crowds. So for you fans and off-duty musicians, pick a show (or several shows) and show your support! Grab some friends and drag them along! And bands, feel free to mention Rockpage at your shows, so people can discover this site and learn about all the music happening in this region!

And please designate a driver or limit your alcohol consumption if you have to drive - there will be roving patrols and roadblocks on this holiday weekend!

Hell yes, let's fill these clubs tonight, people!!! BAD DAZE is pumped to be back in Altoona after several months!!! If you're not out at City Limits to jam with us, then show up to another show somewhere!!! Support the scene, don't bitch about it.

The music scene is still very much alive for a few bands, unfortunately, for most it's a lost cause. That's not to say that any musician out there is better than another, just that what some bands are doing is more acceptable to the particular area that they are playing in than others. If you go to a lot of party bands web sites, you see a sea of people in most of their shots, only because what they do is more appealing to the masses. I myself am partial to the heavier music, not deathmetal, but heavier rock and metal. The last band I was in started out with pretty large crowds but over time dwindled to just a few here and there because the novelty wore off and it wasn't new anymore. I've seen a few bands succumb to this because they don't stick together. The biggest local bands out there right now have had slumps in their careers, but the only ones who pulled through were the ones who stayed together. It's easy to point the finger and want to make changes to justify the smaller crowds, but keep in mind that when everythings rolling smoothly and the crowds are there, changes are the last thing on your minds. I've been on both sides of this situation, and it took causing it, then being a victim of it to realize exactly what is important to me as a musician, friendship and loyalty. Good luck to all who have made changes in your band as of late, hopefully it will work out for all parties involved.

hell yes Eric. I never want to see u fail brother. U have my word on that. And as far as a music scene being broken, get some new tools, learn some new tricks, and lets get er done! Just becuz EV and I may have disagreed on the future of a band, doesnt mean I dont think hes a talented motherf#?cker.

Shit will happen; if we all jump into the same sewer and pump that shit the whole way to wherever it needs to go. Western and central PA bands come forth, for we need to create a NEW WORLD ORDER.

Yes, there is no denying that point right there....If enough people start and stick with trying to make a change, it can be done...Martyrdom is in for anything that goes to helping this....
