Props to Joel Becker

Post by bassist_25 »

Not to sound kiss-ass or anything here, but I thought that I should give some kudos to one of the scene's unspoken supporters and someone who has added so much value to the scene in general.

Joel goes around taking professional-level photos of bands in the area. He was the main photo person for Hair Force One, and has also gone around to take photos of other bands, including Lies, Inc., Flight 19, and us to name a few others. He distributes his work to the bands free of charge, and only asks that credit be given to him if his work is used. He gets killer shots and is totally unobtrusive when doing his thing.

If you see Joel out at one of your shows clicking pics, let him know that you appreciate what he's doing.

Haha, well you know, sometimes brown nosing goes on, and I'm always worried about sounding brown nosey. LOL

Thanks, I honestly just love getting out and enjoying all the good music that this area has to offer, and at the same time enjoying the hobby I picked up a few years ago. And Bad Daze, Lies Inc, and Flight 19 are some of the best and fun guys to work with as well.

Perhaps he could shoot Mama Corn... he would have to leave his Jim Price double-chin fatassifying filter at home though. --->JMS

Sorry the last two are different sizes, but I don't have the software on this computer to resize them.

Post your Joel shots, everyone!

Joel does a very nice job. I don't think he ever puts the camera down. :)
I would say that he would gladly take beer chips for payment of his services.:):):):):):):):)

Hey BD guys, what model of spot lights are this pic? Were you using fog there?

Hey Jeff, that's some sort of Intelligent Light rigging that Knight Sound uses. I believe it's Chauvet. There was probably fog on stage during that pic.

I thought they were some kind of pinspots or something, but now I see those are those big-assed ones with some kind of pinspot aperture or head. Do they move?

The big assed part does not move, however the mirrors which reflect the lights do.
