Why aren't there any VOCALIST get togethers???

Post by REDillon »

Is it because there isn't a place large enough to fit our egos?

Is it because there isn't a place with enough mirrors for everyone to posture & strut?

We need something to prove we're dedicated to our ART.

Or maybe not. Maybe I just need some old fashioned Rockpage love....

It's because we'd all be standing outside waiting for everyone else to carry the gear in, and never get started.

Because you can't find any bars where they have both beer & wings on special at the same time?

if I weren't so kitty-whipped  , I could definitely go fer some good ole-fashioned Rockpage lovin'!

other than the laziness, egos, struts, and not having any equipment to tote, I think it might be because no one could get a word in edgewise....a cacophony of vocalists.....just thinking about the potential for harmony makes my toes curl

hahaha!

or is it because none of us want to hear what we really sound like without a band playing behind us?

for the record, i always help bring in the guys' stuff. as long as i don't run the risk of breaking a nail. or a heel.

Probably because most would show up late, insist the host supplies all the alcohol and then leave without helping the others clean up.

Why would catching the clap make you win a prize?

Isn't this what a karaoke night at your favorite bar is for?

But, hopefully, much, much better. Overheard the last time we were someplace
that was having karaoke, by a guy who just butchered an AWFUL country song:
"Ya, next week I'm goin' to sing some Queen".

Yaaaaaaaaaaa ya are.

Heck ya Joe....Just ask em'...then leave before you have to suffer through it.

Disclaimer: SherK., post a couple of beverages, is more than willing to
head up and offer a...rendition...of "Midnight Special" a/o "Buttercup"....
Not good for anyone... AND, the latter always seems to cause a bunch
of other women to run up up like they're in a freakin' marathon to act as
"Backup". This compounds the damage and makes me wish I was a
heavier drinker...or deaf... :(

Last I heard....Lead Singers Disease (aka - LSD) is still illegal and getting them all together would be like Woodstock. The Center for Disease Control would frown on this due to possibility of infection.

Man, everyone jumps on board for get-togethers if you play an instrument! I heard skin flute does NOT count. We vocalists are a tough bunch.

If there were a bunch of skin flute players looking to get together to master their craft, I'd be more than willing to donate my "instrument" for the sake of art. It's also perfect for beginners. It's a short scale.
