i don't know how anyone can say current music sounds the same. i think all 80's glam bands sound the same. unless you know the bands you can't tell the difference. just like rap. just like country. just like classic rock. just like metal. if you listen to something all the time, you can hear the difference, if you don't ever listen to something, of course it will sound the same. i think all rap sounds exactly the same. i think most country sounds the same. i didn't mean the original quote as anything for or against the band. i couldn't remember the name of the song or the year, i just knew the name of the band was familiar. you wanna look at a waste of music? look to the early 90's pop.
i'm in the vast minority it appears. i really dig Cold. they sound like Bush (whom i also really like) with a much darker slant. 13 Ways to Bleed Onstage and Year of the Spider are someplace close by to throw in for me.
great band in the studio.... not so great live... saw them 3 diff. times and i must say i was unhappy....but i dig the stuuf on their cd's.......just my 2 cents........please dont bash me
I really enjoyed this band when they were around but I hope the new cd they are working on is better than the last one.
I agree that they were good in the studio and not so good live... but, I'm probably going to be flamed for even showing a marginal interest in a band that is being bashed so hard.

Haha...some Nada Surf info - Their label dropped them in the US but kept them on the European roster...and...Europe still loves them. And most recent US success...their song Weightless is on the HEREOS soundtrack.
I'm pop-u-lar...the high school where that video was shot hated the band after the high school saw the naked shower scene!
