I don't know, Rob. Do you have evidence to back that up? I don't either. I think most reasonably intelligent people know that crack is bad for you. Will it being legal make people try it just because they can? I don't know that either. People continued to drink and go to speekeasys when prohibition was around.

I really don't care either way, as I've never had the urge to slam some heroin or smoke a little crack. I would, however, like to see all of the gangs and low-lifes have their power taken away from them, since there's obviously a demand for their product. Then again, decriminalizing that stuff creates a whole host of other problems. There's never an easy solution. :?
You make some good points, however people smoke and they know it's bad for them. Would they smoke if cigarettes were illegal? There certainly wouldn't be as many smokers, because they never would have had the opportunity to light up. There's something about having a store that sells stuff that makes people wanna try. Also, there would be less "passed on" smoking. Speakeasies of course were popular because people already were drinking before prohibition. I guess the people that are going to do hard drugs, are just going to do them.

As far as dealers go, they are opportunists. You take away the "Criminal" aspect of something, they are going to find something else to exploit. If hard drugs are legalized, then the government will be responsible for this stuff. A whole mess of shit would come from it.

You know what's really funny about all of this? Right now, you see commercials about the dangers of smoking cigarettes, the state just passed laws banning smoking in public places because of ill effects. Yet, we are talking about getting hard drugs legalized? Good luck. haha

One more thing, I think crime rates would go up if hard drugs are legal. These drugs make people selfish, it would ruin families and cause more thefts and robberies. Just my take on this. :)

Decrim weed and hash. Severely stiffen the laws on everything else.

Two crackheads burn some rock.
"We're about out."
"Yea, really. And I'm broke."
"The old lady up the street has to have some bucks. What'dya think?"

Two guys burn a croaker.
"Man, I'm ripped. What'dya wanna do?"
"I dunno. Let's get some Doritos and watch a movie."
"Cool."

Case closed.

I would like to know how many potheads smoke weed purely for its flavor and smoking pleasure? (here's where I find out who the Rockpage liars are, lol)
Different kinds of pot offer different flavors, you didnt know this? From the mellow browns to the sweet tasting mean green skunk, im not goint to sit around filling my hookah with ragweed, wheres the pleasure in that?
No lies here, there's pleasure in smoking the good flavors with the added bonus of the buzz.
Purely, Bobby? That's a good answer for a different question.

Decriminalizing is not the same thing as legalizing.

If you really want decrim, Get Involved. It ain't gonna happen on it's own.
Here's an organization working to make that happen. If you don't join, at least sign up for e-mail alerts. They can direct you to e-mail your Congressman on votes that make things happen. I send at least a couple a year.

I want it to be decriminalized so they can start experimenting with it.

Maybe make a strain that doesn't make me paranoid and sleepy. Then I'll buy some!
