For those "Rockpagers" that are playing out, how many gigs did you do this year?

No idea. A bunch, it would take too much work to go back and look at how many.

I sat in at about 10 of those, that's my whole list for the year.
Laugh if you want to, really is kinda funny, 'cause the world is a car and you're the crash test dummy.

Having a slow second half hurt me. Maybe 20 regular shows, and some sit-ins and jams. Still looking for a bluegrass bassist.--->JMS

Well, if you subtract the misses, rim shot boofahs and dropped sticks im probably behind you Rob. Thank god i learned my double strokes.

Have to check with Felix for the total but Sep started to slowdown for us so im guessing around 210. Our personal record is 246. The 4 nights a week are a thing of the past for now, the economy and smoke ban combined to kill off alot of work, not to mention people sick of our mugs.
:P

No-Where Near Enough In My Book For Me. If I'm generous & count New Year's Eve the other night(which I usually count towards the incoming year), only 21. Three of those gigs were benefits. Talk about part-f'ing-time. I should be & I am thankful to even be playing at all in this dying business nowadays. So obviously I'll take what I can get. Personally, I get alot of satisfaction playing in a TIGHT band. For me, the only real way to have fun is to be self-confident & playing only a few gigs like I have this past year doesn't make that a reality. Most everybodys knows, the best way for a band to be really good & tight is to play alot of shows. I guess that I've been spoiled in past years with other bands that I've been in that went full speed ahead. But when you get older, your band-mates have priorities that overpower music & I'm powerless so I find myself as a role-player. Once again, I'm happy to even be playing at all.
I've drank enough beer to float a battleship! Go ahead and Rock & Roll all night if you can but don't party every day!

About 25 with FLood City Brass
About 35 with Jill Gontkovic Trio
About 45 with Swing City

Thanks MC, Felix still puts in his sometimes 60hrs for his boss, dunno how he does it. Ill be getting back into IT soon, playing fulltime anymore is not feasible anymore with the economy for me. Peter C's was a great start for our 4 nighters we did for years, miss that place John! Gigs add up with an every Thurs and Sun then book the weekend.

Hey, I started this topic cause somebody posted the same topic last year at this time and I thought it was interesting to know what's going on out there now days but I didn't want anyone to think of it as a competition thing or anything. The highest number of gigs ain't necessarily the best situation for everybody. Although I did 88 gigs and probably made more bucks playing than "PanzerFaust", his one gig with his boss may have given him more musical satisfaction than me going out every weekend and playing "Proud Mary and Wipeout".
Don't be shy!

between falling higher, blackout, and the one echo chamber show, id say maybe 40, most being with falling higher. ryan and i didnt play as much as we used to a few years ago. I think one year we had close to 100, basically because we were playing shows anywhere we could just throwing shit together last minute at different bars just to get our name out. that year would have been around the time of the helping hands for hastings benefit.

Felix is a huge dude.I'm convinced he just beats more time outta the day.The cat lives two blocks from me and i swear to god he NEVER sleeps, always answers his phone and is always willing to help a brother out no matter what.Aside from being one outstanding fiddle player the man is just a top notch cat.Hats off to you fellows cause y'all rock.
