Roadrunner United (The Concert)

Post by WerewolfMovies »

I only heard yesterday that this was available in DVD format now. This is easily my favorite collaboration on in (Rob Flynn/Sepultura rules!).

On the other hand, Type O Negative fans need not apply to this awful cover (sung by Ville Valo, that HIM douche).

I like the Sepultura cover, but the Annihilator "Alice in Hell" cover was more better.

Rippers cool as hell....

E mail him from his site.. He always sends back a personal e mail....

says he remembers playing in Altoona at Sabs' etc etc.....

Sent out an e mail after getting back from touring with Yngwee and the header only had like 20-30 e mail addresses like they were from his personal address book...

Effin A! I like the Annihilator cover too. I really like that song to begin with, and Ripper did it justice. I thought I was going to see glass shatter when he carried out that high note.

Ripper is one of my fav singers ever, and I like all of his covers especially Maiden's "Flight of Icarus"
Annihilator is some classic metal for sure Don, I grew up with that stuff. I wonder if they are still around?
Ironically that's the second cover of that song in the last two days that I heard....never gets old either.

Wow... First time I heard Annihilator, I was visiting an X's father with her. Yeah, that was an interesting day. Fortunately, we're both into the same kinda music... That day was awkward enough! He had a DVD playing, and I was just watching like "This's pretty damn cool..." while conversing with them both

Ok, that was continuation of a hijack...

I haven't heard much of the RRU show, but the songs that I've heard are kick-ass, as can be expected. Road Runner has a pretty damn decent list of bands

Okay, I've got another vid.
R. Flynn again, singing a slipknot song (from the days when slipknot was listenable).

This is a pretty cool dvd, all in all. There are definately some shitty songs, like Corey Taylor shamelessly playing the Stone Sour song "Bother" at a metal show.

Yeah I hear ya Jeremy, there was a riff in one of the songs off that album that I liked, but I dont know the name of that song and hell it's been about 8 years since then.

1999 was the year of thar big wave of new bands like Slipknot, System of a Down, Snot, Machine Head, etc...better than grunge I guess, but I didnt listen to any of it cause I was into Sepultura and Slayer alot back then...\

It's weird looking back and thinking about how my style and influences transgressed though the years...
