I'm just happy to hear from Quail! How are ya? I thought you'd vanished from the cosmos!
I'm so ready to get back out fishing... I checked the Raystown Branch water temp the other day online, it was 46 1/2 degrees F... not so good for bass fishing. I do know that some guys go smallie fishing later in winter, they say you use hair jigs super-slow on the bottom... you likely won't catch a fish all day, but if you do, HANG ON. Only the big hawgs have enough body mass and spare energy to go after prey, so when you hook one, it'll def be a keeper. I wish I had a bigger boat... recreational kayaks like mine aren't really equipped to be in dangerously cold water. Plus, I don't do eskimo rolls, or anything else that resembles danger or effort.

Those guys that take their lives into their own hands in a kayak in 35 degree Class 5 whitewater? Mentally ill. Johhny, in a waterbourne plastic Lazyboy on a hot summer day with a fat baggy? Mentally chill.
