Did anybody Catch the Warped Tour this year?
I went to Hershey yesterday for it and it was quite an event for various genres of music. I some some extremely talented band there and the crowd participation with the band was amazing. Some good band to note of were Story of the Year(what stage presence these guys have), Tiger Army(excellent pshcobilly band), Bad Religion(nedd i say more), Anti-Flag(WOW), and a whole lot of other excellent bands as well as a few hip-hop acts. Isaw some very excellent local PA bands there as well.
The thing that really surprised me the most about this event was how politically involved all the musicians, bands, corp., etc. were. They talked about the president and presedential canidacy, abortion, gay marriage, etc. which really surprised me. It was an all around good time there yesterday lots of free stuff givin out and the crowd was the most amazing part usually a crowd with that many people something happens, usually a givin.
let us know what you thought if you went

Yep
I am not at all surprised that there was political talk. More and more musicians are getting involved in politics and getting their views out there. Also it is nice that they are standing up for what they believe in. Use to be that some musicians were so self undulged that they believed music was all there was.
Glad you had a good time and a positive experience!

i agree with you that it is very cool that they are doing it. it was just very surprising to me being that the crowds are usually of the younger generations which is very cool because it gets them thinking, ya know? they bashed both parties on all topics. they are pushing the Rock Against Bush compilation through the roof.
But let it be known, that the music was more pwerful than the political talk!!!

i went to the pittsburgh show. i remember when they used to have it at i.c light . it was better then. there are too many poser pop wannabe's now. i went to see anti-flag. they fucking rocked. then i went to watch rise against. good shit. then we had to wait a few hours for another decent band. i caught much the same on the ernie ball stage. very nice. then, bad religion. fucking right. always awesome. tiger army was great. nofx kicked the shit out of everyone. "seperation of church and skate" was poignant. the lyrics of that song are perfect in light of all those trendy teeny boppers in attendance. "when did punk rock become so safe?" also, got to meet fat mike and talked to him for a bit. all in all, a good day.

Yes i agree story of the year and bad religion put on a good show...backflips off of their amps...jumping over the drummer onto the stage while playing...throing guitars across stage to roadies...spinning guitars around their backs and catching it and playing again...hershey was a great time and yes lots and lots of free stuff:-D
