Just a thought..

Post by tornandfrayed »

I read the other day about a possible scenario that makes me wonder.

Imagine a man saturated with power. Say that this man was facing the possibility of losing a national election. This was of great concern because if the election was lost then the plans that had been made were of no value. Also he would not be able to give his friends all the things that they need to make their lives good.

Imagine a Country that was unsure of the truth and was easily mis-lead because of their fear, not only of outsiders and the threat of terrorist activities but also of their own County men and the fact that some people might have better stuff then them.

Imagine that this man were to tell this Country 6 months prior to this election that they were in great peril and that they should be very alert. That the threat of terrorism was greater now then ever before.

Now here is where you have to use your imagination a little bit. Humor me...

So this man tells these people that in order for him and God to make them safe they are going to declare martial law and then the man can keep the people safe. A lot of the people think this is cool because they don't want someone to take their stuff. But then the man says that we need to do this for a while longer and we are going to delay this "Election" for a year or so.

Again most of the people don't care because they think the man has their best interests at heart.

Then the man starts to take away things like civil liberties and the right to bear arms but since most people get to keep their stuff they are alright. Suddenly over night though the man decides to tell the people that they really don't know as much as him and that they don't need their stuff anymore because the friends of the man really need all the stuff to keep the man safe.

Beware!

Very Good point my friend, Now I don't think it will go that far ( Hopefully), BUT I do believe that the " keep em scared " method is a favorite of the Bush camp if you look at the terror alert system it always seems to go high when there could be some political benefit ... COINCIDENCE ?? I think not !! as I have said before BEWARE this crew is bad news they are uo to NO GOOD !!!

Sorry!

Post by tornandfrayed »

I am sorry guys! I thought we were open to discussions and exposing others to ideas! My mistake! I am closer everyday to understanding why people "Want to hear songs we already know!".

I'm sorry to all if I offended anyone. I will try to stick to only musical ideas.

Let's start by making a list of how many bands cover "Sober" That should be interesting, then we can move on to how many other peoples songs we really would like to do! Then we can talk about other peoples songs that we don't like to do...

Just kidding, I have a suspicion that there ia a lot of musical dialog that is occurring on Rockpage. I don't think that expressing opinions or ideas is fornidden if they are not music specific. If you don't like the thread why bother posting? Or reading it for that matter?

I concede that you have the right to only want to talk about one thing but do not impose your self restrictions on me.

Also I am not blasting cover bands, I am blasting narrow mindedness.

The original post on this thread reminded me ... "Star Wars — Episode III: Revenge of the Sith" is only 9 months away from theatrical release.

I apologize for my narrowmindedness, but how many different ways can you say that you hate George Bush ?

Perhaps we can have a discussion on how Mr Kerry will be a better President........We can discuss his plans, as soon as he tells us what they are..

Goerge Bush is NOT the best president we've ever had, but the only compelling thing about John Kerry is that he's not Bush.

People are not voting FOR John Kerry, They are voting AGAINST Geogre Bush.

I'm beginning to hate politics!!!!!

I don't like Bush amd I don't like Kerry. It scares me to death that any man who is truely a leader will not consider being President. The fact that one would pursue the office with so much zeal indicates that their is something inherently missing, humility.

I am sorry, I will try to be less critical of the President.

My apologies. I truely do believe in America.

And as far as "Star Wars" the first three episodes on DVD! What more can I say!

Haven't seen "I Robot". Really didn't intend to "Steal". I do like that Fresh Prince Guy though! You must have seen the 2nd hidden post about the Robots taking over society....Kind of Orwellian but still...

Maybe I will have to go see the movie now! Wait I am getting mind feeds from Jazzy Jeff....

Hate to dissapoint but....

Just kidding around, I really didn't see the movie! It was actually from a small piece written in Rolling Stone that got me going.....If I stole it was from them and I apologize!

I am shying away from original thought in order to try to fit in!

Just kidding again!

So this man tells these people that in order for him and God to make them safe they are going to declare martial law and then the man can keep the people safe.
Yeah, I heard the same thing in 1999 when we were going to have the Y2K meltdown. On January 1, 2000, Clinton was going to declare martial law to control the uncontrollable effects of all those shortsighted chip clocks. Since the XXII amendment prevented him from running for re-election, Clinton had no choice but to seize control. After all, we couldn't survive without him.

The only thing politicized about these terror alerts are the actions of the people who are politicizing them.
...Oh, the freedom of the day that yielded to no rule or time...

Well the thing is this ... It's too bad that there wasn't a way for Bill Clinton to be the Country's Permanant Pres. that way we'd all have it nice today instead of all this worrying.. ALL HALE BILL CLINTON !! " The Man ".. "The Legend "
