Tell Dawn and Debbie that Bill (the old telephone guy on Saturdays) said hello. Both are really cool people.The_Underground wrote:We've been volunteering at the Central PA Humane Society and need your help. Please support the shelter by adding a slideshow to your website/myspaces.

When I volunteered there, there was pretty much zero chance of euthanasia. They're excellent, and place all healthy animals. In fact, the Central PA shelter takes regular shipments of animals from other states for placement here. The only animals I ever saw euthanized were very sick or vicious, and were not strays or surrenders, they were put down at the request of their owners, who pay for the service. It's a very sad time, and CPHS is very understanding of that.
Folks around here are generally pretty good about their treatment of animals, with glaring exceptions. Also, while our overpopulation problem is there, it's not on a level with many urban areas. If the pet you're surrendering is healthy, they'll find a home for it.
CPHS is my favorite charity, and their reputation is sterling to me. I've worked there, and heartily recommend it. Anytime anyone wants to put together a benefit show for them, I'll be first in line to help.--->JMS
