I too consider many mentioned rock or funky soul, but to each their own!

For a change of pace, I like to listen to various "Will The Circle Be Unbroken" volumes, various Bruce Cockburn, John Denver, Peter Himmelman, Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, and Vivaldi, "The Four Seasons". Chaka Khan and Rufus, Earth, Wind and Fire, Sade and way too much else to mention is in my varied Music collection. The most recent additions: at the Altoona Library the other week, I picked up a few LPs: Neil Diamond, "Serenade" and Golden Avatar, "A Change Of Heart". I felt as if I were a kid on Christmas when I finally broke in my record player!

Edit for post below: If y'all dig good instrumental Guitar and aren't already familiar with his work, check out Joe Satriani.

the sound of silence can be intoxicating depending on what kind of day you've had.....have you ever heard the sound of snowflakes falling on that perfect high 20's low 30's type of day.......if nature fails though, I like Return To Forever or Uli jon Roth's classical, lyric-less work

you know who you are!

Oh yes...beautiful sound. Makes one appreciate the simplicity of tranquil sounds.

I listen to many different styles of music and lately I have been checking out lots of do-wop groups. Even though the music was simplistic, the vocal harmonies and arrangements were great and a good way to learn some vocal techniques.

I agree with you, although I couldn't name a damn one of them to save my life, but I know the genre that you speak of.
I like to listen to older music like that sometimes cause it puts your mind in a different timeline or era.

I also like to listen to the recording quality and I'm so amazed at how great they sound even compared to todays' standards.
It's astonishing how they got the results they did from what little they had to work with ain't it?

Take Baceman and Chuxemas posts together, and add some Nick Cave and the bad seeds/Grinderman.
