If you're in no hurry, I may be able you with a paint job. I won't have the room or tools until probably spring.
What exactly did you have in mind? Solid color? Transparent finish? Satin or high gloss clear?
Here was my last project:

I made this guit for my brother and wanted to combine all his influences, hence the Vai-Halen-Petrucci (and a Satch signature strap to top it off!). The Vai look comes with the body shape (claw Floyd route and monkey grip), Van-Halen styling in the paint job, maple board, and empty p/up cavity, and Petrucci in the Picasso finish on back (from his old Ibanez sigs) and the arm contour shaping from his new MM guitars.
I wanted it to have some grain, so I managed to find a heavy-grained ash body and did a trans red underneath the striping. For this application, simple spray paint was more than adequate for the blacks and whites and I used an automotive clear coat. The body was meant for a Korean Ibanez neck and I used a Japanese neck, so I did a bit of machining on the neck heel sides to get a perfect fit. I also layered a few Oak veneers together (since it has similar grain to Ash) to use for the trem, electronics, and jack cavity covers. Then I stained & painted them to match the body.
I have a few basses that I will be getting out and finishing in the spring/summer and will probably try to clear coat them all at once.
Let me know what you're looking for.
