Just got this idea after talking to Zac (xero380).
You have all listed your myspace addy's before so you all could add each other to your friends list and what not, but anyone have AIM instant messager and would like to share your screen name to add more contacts?
MY aim name is "metallicchurch"
Metalchurch was taken, and I try to keep that name cause I use it for everything I'm logged into for ease of remembering..
I know some who use yahoo messager, I personally havent tried that yet.
Trillian's awesome. It's a IM program that allows you to log into AIM, Yahoo, MSN, and ICQ (does anyone still use ICQ anymore?) all at once, and chat using just one client. It's really nice if you have friends spread across different IM clients.
"He's the electric horseman, you better back off!" - old sKool making a reference to the culturally relevant 1979 film.

I remember ICQ from way back. If memory serves my ICQ number is 222256. But generally I use the same name everywhere, its usually not taken even though I made it as a very general/standard name. Hence the Jack part for general and ANSI as the standard part (like in ANSI specs).
But the chances of you finding me online in some IM service is really low, I think its been almost, if not over, a year or more since I've logged in to any of them.
I log on everday sometimes all day long because it makes it easier for me to talk to a few people at once while I'm at home.
Plus I prefer this to PM'in people on rockpage because it's much faster to get a hold of someone.

You know Ron I did notice that but I didnt want to just AIM someone at random without their consent.
I talked to a few rockpagers yesterday via AIM, and it was really cool to talk and bs about music and bands. I haven't spoken to them very much prior, so it was real cool to get to know some people a little better, who I see online just about everyday.
Man, I remember when ICQ was *the* instant messenger program, about 10 or 11 years ago. (heh, "online time" seems to move so much faster than "real life", 10 years on the 'net is like a millennium!) I think ICQ suffered a major decline between '99 and '01 due to them being slow to add features that the others had all along, such as your contact list being stored remotely. Originally, if you had a crash and had to reinstall Windows, and didn't have your ICQ contacts numbers written down, tough luck, unless they happened to message you or you could find them in the search thing again. Of course, AOL buying Mirabilis probably contributed to it as well.
Anyone remember "Pow-wow"? Oops, drifting off topic here...
I use MSN mostly, I had ICQ but never added it to my new PC. i know some radio stations use ICQ because I hear the "UH_OH!" in the background...LOL I also have yahoo but rarely use it.
Use to be a site (name forgotten) that had a browser window and you could see who all was viewing that page and meet/chat there...And you had different avs and like magic carpets that you could ask people to join you and travel from page to page as a group.(could even upload your real car's pic).I remember one site of a color changing lagoon. They also had some cool X-rated smileys that you could play in the rooms and only people who had that one stored would see it.

I always figured that people who fill that in don't mind when others contact them. Otherwise, why fill it in?

Yeah you are probably right about that, I never thought of it.
