A few drummers have talked about getting together again.
Just throwing this up to see if anyone is interested ? Then we'll pick a date.

Hawk,
Maybe you could do a clinic on your mounting device and how to get the dang mount off of a Yamaha drum! I can't budge it! That's OK though, I saw and heard it work first hand and it is ingenious. Reduce the size of the bounce control screw, make it real pretty and I think you've got yourself a winner. It works!

Thanks Clint. I could demonstrate it, but it wouldn't make much of a clinic.
I've been thinking along these lines. Randydrummer is so well versed in many genres, I'd like to have a "Ask Randy" get together. He might cover a bit of blues (my needs) jazz, big band, rock, etc..
I don't want to embarrass him (you) but what do you think Randy ?

These guys will NEVER let me forget this.nakedtwister wrote:Clint, maybe you could hold a clinic on how not to forget your Tom mount before a gig!!!Sorry Hawk, not.
We played a private party last Saturday, in Johnstown. I forgot the mount for my single mounted tom.

In the mean time, my son stopped home, saw it left on the front porch and he took it in the house. Then nakedtwister stopped to pick it up - and it was not there.

I'd be willing to do a forum on diverse styles. If there's an interest, I'll put together a little something. I have tons of experience playing every imaginable style all over the world. If nothing else, it might spark some ideas for the guys interested in fusing different styles together. Lots of talk about the whole "fusion" thing lately.
Randy, thanks ! I think that would be great.randydrummer wrote:I'd be willing to do a forum on diverse styles. If there's an interest, I'll put together a little something. I think drummers would learn (if they don't already know) that some things you do for one genre can fit into other genres. Like some jazz things can be transferred to some rock.

Here is an extremely cool video (about 30 minutes) of a guy dissecting Latin rhythms into a very understandable form. Yet when he puts them together, you begin to see the complexity they hold.
