Anyone catch the debate last night?
How could you not, it was only on 32 channels!
It was the first time that I've ever seen either one of them speak, and I gotta admit that McCain sounds alot like W in my opinion. I dont follow politics much, but it was interesting to see what they had to say, cause one of them will be running the country very soon.

Here was the one that got me...they were talking about alternative energy souces, nuclear power I believe....and after Obama spoke, McCain in an attempt to ridicule Obama I suppose, said 'he wants them to be safe, er clean, er...something like that'....
excuse me ??? He sounded like a moron. Regardless of your thoughts on alternative energy, why would you not want them to be safe and clean? Why would you ridicule somone on that position?
The only thing that can save McCain now is if he pulls out some scandal on Obama a few days before the election before people have any time to sort it out.

Awesome, Kev.
I actually watched something else. I knew a big chunk of it was going to be about the economy, and neither one of the prez candidates has a clue on that subject. It's up to Congress to fix that, and that ain't gonna happen. I understand from the afterglow interviews on Fox that McCain suggested another 300 billion dollars to buy up the bad mortgages, which I think is a bad move for him... true conservatives, his party base, don't want another dime going to the mortgage industry (me neither), and I think he might have bit himself on the ass, if that's what he said.
The highlight of the afterglow for me was Spinnity getting his ass handed to him again. He was beating the old Bill Ayers/Jerry Wright dead-horse again (nobody cares, Sean) and a guy played it right back at him, noting Sean had a virulent anti-Semite on his show on Sunday, whose position on other issues Sean supported heartily. The guy called him out and Spinny was just livid, but he couldn't win, he'd talked himself into a corner. Loved it!--------->JMS

Agreed. The 2nd season was AWESOME, a must-see for anyone who's ever been in a band. The season finale was excellent, they really raised the bar with the animation, storyline and humor, and especially the music. They really fleshed out all the characters this year. Love it! Back to your regularly scheduled thread.---->JMS
I voted for Nader in 2000. He just can't win it.ChaosRisingRice wrote:Vote Nader than you can have legal pot
Better odds with the pot issue with Obama. McCain won't even tolerate Medical Pot under any conditions.
I belong to MPP and the Drug Policy Alliance, two organizations working to legalize pot. That's were I get my info.
By the way, Michigan is going for Medical this November and Massachettues is going for full decrim which means anyone caught with an ounce or less will only get a fine, no jail time, and no criminal record.
We'll see!
