I still don't like the comparison to Hitler youth, but I crossed the line in my over zealousness to defend the kids who were put in the middle of this unfortunate situation.

Just cause they didn't represent my beliefs doesn't mean I can't be in awe of their dedication and sacrafice... Christ look at all the people that dress up as Confederates and re-enact Civil War battles every weekend.. Think they all believe in slavery? or are they just honoring the dedication the soliders had about their beliefs....
Oh and yes my GGGrandfather was a Union solider wounded at Gettysburg and captured by the CSA.. So my credentials are impecciable !! hehe....
About two years ago, I said that eugenics "was interesting," since you know, I do have a flippin' degree in psychology and find things like that "interesting." Never did I say that I support eugenics. However, a poster who shall remain nameless but is a hostess of a local music television show decided to jump down my throat and imply that I was a Nazi supporter because I have an intellectual interest in a sociological and genetic movement. Apparently, she couldn't quite understand the difference between being "interested" in something and "supporting" something.
So yeah, I empathize.

And even more so, sometimes our interest is spurred on by the fact we are completely 180 degrees against something and our curiosity lies in trying to understand how someone could be capable of such a thing.. Look at the fact there is now truTV a cable network with almost 24/7 shows on about serial killers and murders... people watch those shows not to support the Dahmers in the world, (Hopefully) but to try to somehow understand how someone is capable of such things... (Although there are some people at work I'd like to choke the shit out of) ... But that's a little counterproductive to my point now isn't it? hehe....
