I did some more work to this a few days ago and thought I'd share some of the details with you guys.
First off, I had to put another neck on this because the 2nd fret on the Charvel neck was worn down so much that I would have had to knock the fret height down too much on the subsequent frets to fix the problem.
I had a Jackson King V neck lying around that I painted up and put a Charvel logo on it.
It's a reverse headstock and it's not what I wanted to use, but it will have to work for now until I get a re fret done on the Charvel neck.

I also put in a DPST on/on toggle to switch from 9v to 18v. Being that I'm only using a single humbucker, I wanted to have some more tonal variety, and right now just by simply switching from 9 to 18 provides enough color.
I sense an EMG SA single coil in the future however!
I had a JB in this initially, but it just wasnt working out. I replaced that with an EMG '85 /18v, but it had too much low end.
I then put in a trusty EMG '81 /9/18v and that's the ticket!
Also by swapping the neck for another one has changed the tone of this guitar. The low end is much more refined than it was, and I'm extremely happy with it now.
I put the '85 into the bridge position on my King V Standard, and it seemed to work out perfect for that guitar, and it sounds so good in there!
Thanks to Rob (jackANSI) for his help with the wiring on this! I was getting confuzzled on which toggle to use.
I highly recommend the 9v-18v toggle mod if you have room for a toggle in your guitar. I have the 18v mod on 4 of my guitars now, and I almost forgot what a 9v by itself sounds like.
My next mod is a 9v/killswitch/18v toggle, also with the help of Rob for setting me straight on that one too.
