Springsteen: Everything after Born to Run was overrated, for sure.

Aerosmith: Went to shit after they quit taking drugs. Anyone remember the SNL spoof years back? ("featuring their new hit "Cryin' Crazy Amazing"")

Ozzy: Got really annoying/repititous after Bark At The Moon, yet all the big Ozzy fans of the era ate it up. (You know, the ones that would say "Black who? Oh, Black Sabbath! They suck! There's no way Ozzy ever sang for them! What in the hell are you talking about?!")

Nu-Metal: More like "Mall Metal" or "Mallcore". Judging from the other posts, you all know what I mean.

Creed: I'm with everyone else here as well. Thank Dio they broke up.

Van Hagar: Such a watered down, pale version of the original Van Halen, I always thought.

Not to disagree with you, Rob, but Prince has always been a crazy performer, one helluva vocalist, a songwriter who has written for everyone and the man plays about 30+ instruments. I'd say he qualifies. Maybe you just don't care for the genre.

Right, I don't care for the genre either but when I saw that performance he did on R & R Hall of Fame induction (while my guitar gently weeps), I now respect him as a guitarist at least...it was fantastic. HOWEVER, a great frontman? I don't know...when I think of a frontman I imagine someone flashier like Mick Jagger or charismatic like Jim Morrison. I'm surprised SPIN didn't pick Jack White...thats all they write about it seems, him and Jeff Tweedy (wilco)...ZZZzzzzzzzzzzz

I think Prince was great in his day ( first couple albums ) very talented, he can probably play guitar better than most of your " guitar heros " But he kinda went off the deep end and lost me somewhere in the 90's as most bands do after the 1st or 2nd album.

I have a bootleg of Prince doing "Red House", well, "Purple House" with Jonny Lang and Maceo Parker that smokes.
While I admit he's an odd bird, you gotta admit, they used to lump him in with Micheal Jackson, saying that MJ was All-American and Prince was a pervert. My, how times have changed.
I still probably wouldn't hang out with him, but he's a kickass picker.---->JMS

I just don't consider him to be a frontman. Sure he is talented and good at some stuff, but I just don't like him and that is what this post is about right?

I also want to add Lisa Marie Presley to this list. Anyone who knows me is aware of my extreme hatred of nepotism. (Hey, this is Central Pa, where an IQ of 83 and the right last name will take you further than a Phd) I could excuse her if she had talent. I mean, Jacob Dylan is no Bob, but I still like the Wallflowers. But Ms. Presley has no vocal abilities to speak of, and absolutley zero stage presence. I caught her on Soundstage the other night, and all I could think is, "what a pathetic performance". Her band rocks, though. It's sad to see such a waste of talent. Oh well, I guess that's how the sideman gig goes.

I don't know about the axle thing, I don't think he's over rated right now, everyone knows he sucks. Although he had it briefly while recording appetite for destruction, too bad he destructed his voice shortly after.

I agree that Lisa Marie had no stage presence not to metion the worst attitude you could ever imagine.
