Mannheim Steamroller

Post by homerski »

I was just looking at the Railroaders museum website, and lo and behold they have Mannheim Steamroller listed for 12/14/08 !!!! Is this true ?? , and if so, where would they be playing?? Certainly not out in the railyard in December ??

MS's website says that they are playing at the Benedum Center on 12/16/08 but nothing about Altoona.

This would be like a dream come true.

They didn't mention anything about the Mannheim Steamroller show at the Clarks show this evening, but they have mentioned it at other shows. I'm sure they'll release other details as the show draws closer. I'd suspect they might do it inside one of the Museum halls, or present the show at another venue, like the Jaffa.

The Clarks show, by the way, was heavily attended and did very well.

Well, this makes it much more believable.

Chip Davis Clones Mannheim Steamroller
Wednesday, Aug 20, 2008 11:01AM
With only 127 shopping days left until Christmas, Chip Davis and Mannheim Steamroller have announced dates for a holiday extravaganza that will feature multiple versions of the band. (This gets kind of tricky, so pay close attention.)

The group kicks off the season November 1 with a stationary production of The Christmas Music of Mannheim Steamroller by Chip Davis at Grand Palace in Branson, Mo., that runs through the end of the month.

Two touring versions of the show get rolling November 13 at University of Florida's Phillips Center in Gainesville, Fla., and will visit 38 cities (primarily on the East Coast and in the Midwest) before calling it a day December 27 with a pair of shows at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas and the Rosemont Theatre near Chicago.

Other cities on the itinerary include Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Huntsville, Ala.; Memphis, Tenn.; Atlanta; Greenville, S.C.; Kansas City, Mo.; Hershey, Pa.; St Louis; Baltimore; Pittsburgh; Minneapolis; Cleveland; Detroit and Omaha, Neb.

Tickets are available through links in the tour section at MannheimSteamroller.com and at Ticketmaster.com.

Davis said fans can expect to hear songs from Mannheim Steamroller's latest releases, Christmas Song and Christmasville, as well as favorites from the group's seven other holiday albums.
