And FYI - I have tried very hard not to actually call any people names or point any fingers in this thread (except once, and I apologized to BDR because I meant it sarcastically).JakeWilliams wrote:PS. Maybe you worded it wrong, but there is no way I can take this as an insult. I would have to assume "lesser people" have called you worse things. "Lesser people" do that... It's what makes them "Lesser people".slackin@dabass wrote:you know, i bet it's hard to believe, but i've been called worse by lesser people than you.
I have posted generic statements, like in my opinion, people who "do a certain thing" or "feel a certain way" are petty, jealous assholes.
The people who take offense to this statement put themselves in that category by how they feel or act, and some by what they have posted.
But, once someone has posted something that put them in that category, they're fair game... And I do enjoy responding to people's exact quotes.

If you guys want to pick on me for every little thing, why the hell can't I do it back? You dished it out first...so I recommend that you learn to take a joke. Which is what that was... I know it's not ha ha funny, but I didn't have much to work with...slackin@dabass wrote:well... i mean... all seriousness aside, spot on, mate. glad you caught that?![]()
I love it too... Because the guy that's getting crucified (me) is simply stating that you shouldn't be happy and cheer at the top of your lungs when another human being gets seriously injured, even if they play sports.slackin@dabass wrote:i think this whole thread... just... i love it. nothing like a bunch of people picking on one person. love it.
To me, it's really funny that most of YOU keep insinuating that you actually are a sadistic human being that hates other people that you've never met - and you actually do wish them bodily harm - and you have a right to cheer and be happy when someone you don't like gets seriously injured...
LOL.

You needed to create a fake identity to post this... Your opinion is worthless...Burgundy wrote:Wow, this really got out of hand there for a minute, I mean it really escalated. For the sake of all humanity, I hope that not one more athlete gets injured. I just cant take it, it's too much for me to think that people are getting hurt playing a contact sport.
Singing off this is Ron Burgundy,Channel 4 news team. Go fuck yourself Jake Williams, I mean San Diego.![]()
And PS - the context of your post has been covered many times before. Nobody says football shouldn't be played aggressively and therefore expect injuries.
But when injuries occur, only petty, jealous assholes cheer about them and are actually happy.

We totally understand the dude's hurtin'. It's just when one person gets fawned over so much and put on a pedestal he gets the bullseye put on him and when he takes a fall, people just naturally celebrate a little 'cause they're so frickin' sick of hearing his name and seeing his face and they wanna see someone else shine a little.
I feel bad the guy's hurt...I know it's painful...but now someone else has a shot at the light awhile.
Thank god for this completely rational and unemotional post. I was beginning to think only Jim Price could respond without getting confrontational.
I'm the farthest thing from a bible banger (literally), but this concept is definitely one of my core values. It's right in the same realm as "you should treat others how you wish to be treated".
I find it amazing that the gist of all of my posts in this topic state, "it's wrong to wish pain and injuries on anyone", and only you and JP have even said anything neutral or positive about the idea.
Maybe Dawn's right - this world might actually just be too F*^ked up to bring children into.
