If you could have anyone come up with you to jam for the night, who would it be and why?

They can be living or deceased, famous, infamous, or even the guy next door.

Layne Staley - Alice in Chains (R.I.P.)

Dimebag Darrel - Pantera/Damage Plan

Zakk - Ozzy

OZZY!

Robert Trujillo - Metallica

Slayer (I probably couldn't keep up)

Then I'd like to smoke a big gagger with Willie Nelson and jam some country!!

John Paul Jones

Not only is he a great bassist, but he just seems like a really cool down-to-earth guy. He's one of the very few "star musicians" I would like to meet. I would love to take some arrangement lessons off of him.
"He's the electric horseman, you better back off!" - old sKool making a reference to the culturally relevant 1979 film.

Hendrix would have to be my first pick....

Realistically, I'd love to get my dad on bass, Felix & Dick Kos, and Petey Myers in the same room to crank out some tunes!

Living---- I'd like to jam with Clapton..... bring up some rythm behind him and Buddy Guy.... he smokes!

There'd be many, but definitely Alison Kraus & Union Station or Tower of Power. Locally I'd love to be involved in a jam with the US House Band and all of their former jammers!

Bob Lee! Although he's a pompous ass and somewhat of an "acquired taste," I hear he can really sing (lol).

Seriously, though....I'd love to jam with (a very incomplete list):

1. Peter Gabriel
2. Andy Summers
3. Tony Iommi
4. Slash
5. Robert Fripp

Love to hang with Steve Harris for a night....he's just one bad ass bassist!

Anyone willing to jam, I'm game for. I've learned so much over the years from just jamming with people, so to just pick one person out wouldn't be fair to the others that I've learned from already.

To have jammed with Randy Rhoads would have been amazing...
To jam with Zakk Wylde would rule too, as well as with Arch Enemy...

I was offered the chance to open for Bill Monroe a number of years ago... still kickin' myself for that one.
As much as I love sitting in with many of the local cats, I still haven't found anyone I love jamming with more than Felix, Bobby, and Jeff. Time has given me the ability to "read" them well, so I can find something to play that fits where the song is, and where it's going. The Rockpage Jam in January was a magical thing, as well, as was the Backyard Rocker Acoustic special in March, with John & Kenny, Acid Reflux, Rock & Rye and Steve Summerhill. I never got to jam much back in the day... metal was pretty much a note-for-note affair... so now that musical interaction is very appealing.
As far as "fantasy" jams, "...Thank you, ladies and gentlemen. Now I'd like to introduce my backing band, Rush..."-------->JMS

I had a dream once that me, Slash and Chris Robinson were writing a song together. The song was very cool, it was over ten years ago that I had the dream but sometimes when I'm just drifting off to sleep, little pieces of it wander through my head. Best dream I've ever had. Otherwise, I would dig playing with:
Trent Reznor
Peter Gabriel
Tony Levin
Sting
Kim Mitchell
Maynard James Keenen
Bruce Hornsby
The Crystal Method
