Even if you hate the patriots, or Tom Brady for whatever reason - this is a terrible attitude about a season ending, and possibly even a career ending injury.

When Kimo von Oelhoffen injured Carson Palmer in much the same way last year, did he celebarate and cheer? No, he was saddened - because he's not only a brutal force on the football field, but a decent human being...

Whatever, it's not like the guy's gonna die or be crippled for life, even if it were career ending, plus I'm sure he's banked enough to get by on the rest of his life.

Thing is, people tend to develop negative (and sometimes hateful) feelings about players and teams that cheat to get to the top. It's gonna be hard for him to cheat on one leg.

Hmmm... Read your original post. I'm not on a soap box. I'm just responding to what YOU posted.

An ACL Tear is not fun - no matter how tough you are. And the recovery period is several months - even for professional athletes. I'm guessing you've never personally suffered a sports related injury? If so, you wouldn't cheer about someone needing ACL repair.

And if you're such a fan of football, how can be all "lol" (or whatever those little smiley mean) and cheer, "YESSSS!" to a serious injury like this?

Your happiness about someone else having to go through excruciating surgery and months of therapy seems to be a little misplaced.

I hate the Patriots and want them to lose every game, but not like this.

Ya know, I'm not ashamed one bit that I wish injuries on athletes that I don't like. Not death, just injuries. My first wish happened yesterday.
I could only dream that I would ever have to mend a torn ACL for a few months and collect $5 mil.
I'll tell ya a few more. Even though I don't really give much of a shit about NASCAR anymore, I'd love to see Kyle Bush, Tony Stewart, and Jimmie Johnson go up in a fireball to start the chase.
I'd love to see Kobe Bryant get shot in the dick by the next girl he rapes.
I'd love to see A-Rod take a 99 mph'er in the face.
I'd love to see Tiger Woods slip on the grass and drive a 9 iron 2 feet up his ass.
I'd love to see Chad Johnson (yeah, I know but I refuse) get his grill knocked down his throat.
And David Beckham. What an asshole. I only hope he's at the bottom of the pile in the next soccer riot.

This reminds me a little of the 1999 season, when Dallas' Michael Irvin suffered his career-ending spinal injury in Philadelphia, and the fans jeered him as he lay on the field. Irvin later commented that he had no hard feelings for the Philly fans, citing that he had beaten the Eagles enough times during his career that he couldn't blame their fans for hating his guts.

jake your a nice guy and all but you do need to get a grip. i have to agree with the die hard nfl fans that all said a resopunding "take that brady". i not a mean person and neither is devil girl. we are just die hard STEELER fans. and to quote charlie daniels, " you just go lay your hand on a pittsburgh steeler fan and i think your gonna find we understand. They get paid well, because they're the best in the world at what they do. If you are jealous of that, maybe you don't understand the concept of being the "best in the world" at something... This country rewards it's athletes. As sick as that is, it's not going to change any time soon. I wish we paid our doctors and teachers more, but we don't - we pay athletes and celebrities.

Love or hate anyone, I still find it disgusting that some people find pleasure and get cheerful in another person's injury/pain. But thanks for trying to add some common sense to this post.

Get a grip on what? I have an opinion - based on having several sports related injuries in my life. They suck, and if you ever had a serious injury - you wouldn't wish that kind of pain and agonizing recovery on ANYONE...

I just think it takes a very selfish, jealous and petty person to cheer about an athlete getting injured. It's just my opinion. You don't have to agree...and I'm not trying to convince you...

And don't get me wrong, I'm a Steelers fan, and hate the Patriots, and Tom Brady... I want the patriots to lose, too... I just don't think season ending injuries should be celebrated.

I play sports and have twisted my ankles (bad) several times... It hurts like hell, but two of my brothers tore their ACLs and assure me the pain of a twisted ankle is NOTHING compared to the agony of tearing your ACL. And pro athletes get injuries like this every game.

I don't wish that kind of pain on anyone.

I'm the farthest thing from a bible banger (literally), but this concept is definitely one of my core values. It's right in the same realm as "you should treat others how you wish to be treated".

PS... I'm not sure what you play, but you're most likely a musician, being a member on this page. Let's assume you play an instrument, because this comparison does much more justice if you need both arms...

Let's just say you slipped on stage and broke your arm in 5 places, and needed several surgeries to repair it, and therefore - couldn't play music for 6 months - AND it was your only means of income.

Yea, that would suck, I know...

Even if you've made enough dough to make it through the next 6 months without working, you can't do what you love anymore - have to go through surgery and months of therapy to even use your arm again...and you don't know if you'll ever be able to use it as well as you used to - so you might never be able to play (well) again.

That's bad enough...

But then what if people started laughing at your misfortune, and saying things like, "That guys a dick, he deserved it"... Or, "he sucked and shouldn't have been making that much money in a band anyway, I'm glad someone took his spot"

It's really not that much different than what is being said about Tom Brady in this post...

So, back to my comparison where you broke your arm...
1. Would you "deserve the injury", just because someone else thinks you're a dick? No...
2. Would the people saying these things about you be petty and jealous? Uh huh.

i totally agree. i'm not trying to be confrontational. and i'm not really wishing anything bad to brady its more the team than anything. all i ment by "get a grip" was i thought you were looking too far into this is all. yes you are aloud to have an opinion and also to voice it. but just remember that there are some poeple who don't look at you voicing your opinion, but instead trying to come down on others for voicing theirs. i hope that doesn't come out wrong or anything. quiet honestly i tore my acl also in high school. and yes it is a bitch. would i ever wish that one someone, probibly not. i'm just glad to see he is out for the season and that pat's have no chance for the super bowl. i know i probibly just jynxed myself but oh well.
