That’s right, in case you haven’t heard, Mr. Morgan was involved in the shoot-out at Fast Trax’s Bar Sunday night. Instead of shutting down the local live music scene, can someone in local law enforcement please take this guy’s weapons away?
Yes, there are actual criminals out there to deal with.

Local law enforcement: Please disarm J. J. Morgan

That's what she said.
Oh my ever-lovin' God. That guy's a one-man genocide. Let's see... didn't he knife a kid at LaRitz in Ebensburg (killed him and cried on the evening news, "I just want this overwith so I can be a good father to my son...boohoo..." LaRitz promptly closed. Then he shot up the St. Mary's Festival, hitting a man in the foot. Festival hasn't seen entertainment since, and was severely downsized. Then he shot blindly into a group of people in St. College, hitting not one, but two men who had the misfortune of walking on Calder Way at the wrong time. I thought he was either in lockup on a "3 strikes" tour of duty or had developed some grey-matter and left town. What a sweetheart.
Another talking point for live music... what's the body count for live music around here?------>JMS

The sad thing is, crap like the Fast Trax shooting and similar incidents always get top billing in the press, further tarnishing the image of ALL bars/nightspots in general (live music venues as well) with the uninformed public. Things like this also likely contribute to law enforcement crackdowns on noise, DUI's, and other offenses by bars - all which present the image that law enforcement is doing something to "clean up" the community.
I cringe whenever I hear about a violent act or drug bust involving a live music venue, because it hurts the overall image of the live music scene, and essentially places a bullseye on that venue for law enforcement to do noise crackdowns, checkpoints, etc.

According to TV 10's noon report, JJ Morgan and somebody else both drew guns during an argument and started shooting. Morgan is currently in the hospital, he was hit; the other guy is also hospitalized, but the name wasn't released yet.
Four incidents, including three shootings and a fatality...Methinks this qualifies Mr. Morgan as a "repeat offender." Memo to the authorities: Can you lock this guy up a little longer next time...like, say, a few decades?

I just watched thhe news on TV10 and was totally amazed at the coverage given to the bar where the shooting happened.
Mr Morgan, the 'victim' was mentioned once, and they are still looking for the other shooter......
The name Fast Trax was mentioned at least five times, as well as a live feed from outside of the bar, even though nothing was happening there at the time.
The bar is apparently the problem here, obviously, The two upstanding gentlemen with the guns were just innocents who luckily just happened to be carrying firearms for their protection.
Lets keep criminals off of the streets, and we won't have these problems.
Also, I'm sure there is a "dickey" little lawyer out there just waiting to defend these innocent pawns, and further demonize the bar & nightclub scene

And this guy was still allowed to walk around? I know our justice system is probaly one of the best, but sometimes I just have to wonder how good it really is.songsmith wrote:Oh my ever-lovin' God. "He's the electric horseman, you better back off!" - old sKool making a reference to the culturally relevant 1979 film.
The laws protect the criminal. I'm starting to think that it pays to be an asshole in this world. You really get nowhere in life being the good guy. If you're the good guy you get walked on by society. It's frustrating, but I'll continue to try and make the world a better place!

Update: TV 10's 5 PM news is reporting that the other person in the shootout with JJ Morgan is actually still on the loose, and may have been shot. Eyewitnesses also said the other person started firing first.
Also, two people were shot in the parking lot outside of Magro's in Johnstown this past weekend. According to TV 10, the people involved were inside the bar earlier in the night.
Question - since when do you need to pack a gun to go to a bar?

i remember going to petey c's one night a few months back when ever since yesterday was playing. nothing but skin heads. i don't know if there was a convention in town or not (i've not seen them there since)... but.. i know they said "if you say 'kill a nigger' twice, then we'll buy everying you ever make." the esy boys walked away from them and eventually almost all of the skins left. later on jae and i heard they beat the fk out of this kid in the parking lot. brass knuckles etc. we ended up seeing him in the mall a week later...holy shiznit, his face was still tore up. bad. it sucks when you can't go out to a bar alone anymore because you don't know if you're going to get beat up, raped, or robbed. i know we were laughing about being 'token drunk magnets" but if that's the only trouble i ever have in a night out...i'll take it and be happy i got off lucky.songsmith wrote: Another talking point for live music... what's the body count for live music around here?------>JMS
