When flying The Grimm airlines....

Post by Bloodsong »

...everyting is first class. The Grimm Ride For Life was a resounding sucsess in everyway. plenty of great food, and super friendly staff, great sound and PA, and a bunch of killer music- all to the tune of raising almost $2000 for the most noble of causes. there was some killer musicianship happening there for sure. The Embalmed was proud to be part of the event. hell up!!!

Couldn't agree more!!
Awsome night.Noble cause.
I arrived late(no suprise to anyone who knows me)so i missed every band before us.....i know i suck.It was however my first sighting of live EMBALMED.I don't know what to say fellows you cats simply CRUSHED!!Tight, precise, well written tunes, cool solos and bad asses vokills.I'm not suckin up i was blown away.
Then The Grimm.Being a member of the Grimm camp for a year or so i kinda had a inside track to some of the tunes . Trust me they're not easy three chord rock songs. It was a pleasure for me so sit back and listen to the real deal, the way they were supposed to be played!Bob,Kent,Otto and Ron my hat is off to you cats it was a joy to be involved!
I think i can speak for the entire NailDriver camp,we had a blast and will share the stage anytime anywhere with any of you cats! HORNS UP

I always miss all the good happenings around here cause I have to go to bed early on saturday for work.
But hopefully, that won't be an issue soon, and I'll be out pimpin chubby chicks and being part of the cause.

Glad you guys had a good turn out for this, and yeah it was for a good cause. I know you guys put alot of time and work into this. Good job everyone.
Horns High, Hell up, whatever, it's all good!

Dudes,

I don't remember the last time that I was in the presence of so many positive vibes....from the ride itself (alongside my good pal and partner in crime Bobby Lee) to the post-ride show. At the risk of sounding rather mushy, everybody was just so damned....NICE! It was truly rewarding to be working elbow to elbow with so many bands, volunteers, fans, and people who simply wanted to help. It was a thrill to share the stage with so many great bands who honored our cause with their presence.

One of the best parts of being last on a bill like this is getting the opportunity to check out everybody else. A few brief words for you all:

Whitedevil: Dude, it was awesome to finally see you guys in action! I'm pleased to say that the shreddertude extends to all members of the group (that nutjob you have swinging the six string bass taught me a thing or two!). You will always be considered Grimm alumni, dude!

The Embalmed: Two words for you guys: Sheer power! I'm always blown away by the way the Embalmed owns (and pummels) any stage it lands upon! Our bands go back a LONG way....here's to many more bills together!

Smoke Run: The latest generation of SR is a re-invigorated machine...many props to Wendell and the gang (and to Shawn for being a ride leader). Brian and Charlie are living up to the legacy!

Old Skool: Great show guys! I can't wait to see where you take things! Rich, you've put together a hell of a unit, and the new drummer is working out well!

Redemption: I cannot believe you've only had two rehearsals....tight tunes and a GREAT stage presence all around! I've been ordered to keep mum on the next phases for this group...but expect to hear good things soon.

Beyond Reason: Tight, kick-ass set (as usual)....you definitely deserved the request for an encore! You guys are a bike rally's best friend! Jamie...get that Spector out of mothballs already!

On behalf of the Grimm, thanks to all of you for contributing your time and skills to our cause! Will we do this again next year? Let's just say that the consensus is that this experiment was a success.

Stay tuned, true believers!

I'm always glad to know that we have such class acts in our little scene here. I'm very happy to hear that this event was a success!

Kent,
On behalf of Redemption (which I think is going to be changed to Rapid Fire - we're sooooo confused LOL) we'd like to thank you for having us. I know we exchanged enough thank you's that nite, but I'm gonna say it again.
We really needed that in the worst way - a chance to jump in feet first and see if we landed square or squashed like a bug. It made a really great test....to see how we would work as a group - and we got our answer. For that matter, so did everyone else. We got so many compliments I have no doubt in my mind that we're gonna be around a loooong time & we can't wait to start writing songs.
The only part I regret was missing the last three bands. Being from Indiana, it's quite a haul for me and the Mrs. was a little under the weather. I've been wanting to hear The Grimm for a long time....maybe another chance will come my way soon.
So thanks for all the kudos - I know one of our group is like a kid on Christmas morning now....he has no idea what's in store for him.
