I was gonna say the 70's cause of Sabbath, they are my fav.
But I chose the 80's cause there was way more that interested me.
Ie:
Ozzy,Dio,Priest,Maiden,Slayer,Metallica,Exodus,Megadeth,Deicide,Obituary,Sabbathw/Dio, Mercyful Fate, KingDiamond,Dokken,Ratt,SkidRow,Early Pantera, Winters Bane, Solitude Aeturnus, etc..
To me this was the era, the turning point of music that brought the 70's into what we now have today.
The early 90's was equally kick ass!!
Nice poll brother!

80's
This is easy for me. No doubt the 80's.
I grew up in the 80's when the hair bands ruled the world!! The music from that time was fan-fuckin-tastic, and the musicians from the hair bands were incredible players and showmen.
ROCK ON!!!

Many people are in denial about the 80's but deep down they all know they love it. The 80's sucked to live in but the music was the driving force for sure man!
Actually the music then was just as diverse if not more than today. Alot of guys write it all of as cookie cutter shit, but you know i am not goona lie, there was some just as there is today and was in previous era's.
That fact is undenieable and hard to seperate yourself from the pack.
Today it's easy cause we have a huge back catalog of music to derive inspiration from, but going back each decade there's fewer and fewer.
Now I'm talking blues based rock, of course music has been around for centuries.
I agree with 'Plastered' with the Death/Speed/Thrash metal genres that was the time for music in my mind.
