Gov. Arnold of Cal. believes in gun control, gay rights, and supports abortion. The only thing conservative about him is his stance on cutting taxes ( for the rich ) . He is billed as one of the main speakers for the Pres Bush acceptance speech. It seems several of the speakers have liberal views. The only thing you need to become a Republican leader is to want to keep the RICH rich. Hypocrites.
The Republicans are against entitlements. G.W. had the government raise taxes so his Texas Rangers could have a new stadium . Why was raising taxes OK when it benefited Bush and the other co-owners ? Did he think he was entitled ? ( they sold the naming of the stadium to his friends at Enron, but we won't go there.) Then he sold the Rangers a couple years later at a HUGE profit ( thanks to raising taxes for a new stadium ) . Did he give any money back to the tax payers with this windfall. NO.
Then the other co-owners told him to keep their share of the money ! And yes, these guys were rewarded when he became governer .
When he became Texas governer the fiscal reports at Texas University were open to the public. One of the first things he did was to remove these records from the public. Then he handed financial control over to one of the former co-owners of the Rangers ( can you say payback ). This man , in a short time, ran the university into bankruptcy. When the people ask where all the money went the answer was simple. "This is not for public knowledge. "
I respect Republican followers, It's Republican leaders that worry me.
