Hey, Remember This Song?
Condemned Existence re-recorded their original Liars Among Us this past Sunday at Face Off Music, in Altoona. The song was re-recorded for a metal compilation due out in the fall. They were thrilled with the professional services of recording engineer Matt Winrick, who gracioucly shared the session tracks for Keith to try a hand at mixing.
Keith proudly offers his attempt for your constructive criticism. Compliments would be nice too! Personally, I'm thrilled these guys are re-recording! New drummer, Randy Wilson, also of Way Down East, brings new life to the old songs, and is just AMAZING on the drums. Actually, they all sound pretty great! And just WAIT until you start hearing some of the new stuff!
So, take a listen. Keep in mind that this isn't the final mix, so actual feedback could be helpful.

I always liked this song. The production is much better on this version. If Kieth asked me personally what I would change it would only be to get a little more bass guitar in the mix; and some more mids in Kieth's guitar. But hey hes the producer; so who am I to judge? Its pretty freakin cool.
No doubt that Bushy is on the right side of the mix. Im really happy that u guys used as much mid as u did in the recording process. That brought the thrashy sound out. Nice to see Andrew still layin some wood on the pipes as well. I need to say this too; Randys drums sound good.

Aww, thanks guys! I'm so proud of Keith, and the rest of the guys! But I just got to hear Matt's mix, and it's great too! He does excellent work, the guys are really pleased and highly recommend Face Off!
Thanks for the input. It was all definitely taken into consideration, and appreciated! It's nice to hear people talk about music in a music forum once in awhile!

Thanks for the kind words everyone! I think Keith did an excellent job mixing this, especially this being his first shot at doing it with a metal band. Working with Matt and Shonn at FaceOff Muzik was a great experience and I'm looking forward to going back in to do the FedUp cd next month along with another Condemned Existence album . We just received an mp3 copy of the mix from Matt and it kicks,so the cd version should really pound! Anyways,I gotta go drink beer so....have a great weekend!!!!

Keith did a nice job in his mix. We owe a lot to Faceoff Muzik, because we wouldn't be talking about this for a couple more months, if at all. I hope we have a long lasting relationship with them. They were super awesome, and if anyone from there is reading this. I'm working on making the T-shirt real. I told a lot of people about it, and they want one. So, maybe I'll do some promos with the CD. Anyway, I'm proud, anxious, and excited to get this completed.

You can't deny Keith's Knack for just about anything music related.
I can't wait to get down there in 2 weeks and work with the faceoff dudes. Shonn's only been tryin to get me down there for like 5 years. LOL!!!

nope, i've never heard that one before actually. has a cool groove to it, but i can't understand the vocals at all. sounds like he's saying 'you are a ball licker' but that can't be right. that's what it sounds like to me though. lol
the production is pretty good, i really love the drum sound. sounds like the kick drum has a delay or something to it? either way it's a nice effect.
good job dudes!

The G string is a pain in the ass.

Hahaha...classic! Well dude, you are correct. You can understand my vocals somewhat because that is exactly what I'm saying. The song is basically my hate and anger toward reality and not so reality shows, The Swan, Trading Spouses, Wife Swap, Rock of Life. Stuff like that. I'm annoyed of the people who think they're famous because they're socialites and contribute nothing to society. I guess that's my emo side...lol. But, really the "You're the ball licker" line I got from Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back. But my logic is that, you may have your 15 minutes of shamless fame, but all you're doing is licking some rich man's nuts for a "shot at love" or to show people with thousands of dollars you too can look beautiful. And you're never too thin to be fat. OK, I could go on forever, but congrats scorpion you found the hidden line out. I'm hungry. I agree, Randys drums add so much to this group. I enjoyed the first few practices because of the new style he added to the older songs, and I know that the new material will be that much better.RobTheDrummer wrote:Kicks ass fellas! Randy was a very good addition to the group!
And now that you guys have filled the void in the bass slot makes the package more complete. I really cannot wait to hear it now.
As a band you guys have progressed tremendously since he first incarnation, the best really is yet to come now that everyone's on the same page musically.
