Hurricane- If we had to chase deer/bear around with knives, could you imagine how many JP would hit with his car? We'd have to do a much bigger benefit than what we just did.
That's not how many deer I would hit with my car...but how many deer would hit my car!

Some Bambi just tried to off itself in front of my car this past Friday night on the new stretch of I-99 near Bald Eagle as I was coming home from State College. My rreflexes were good and I swerved around it, missing it by about a foot...whew!

Remember when they opened up I-99 and how many deer were killed on that road? If the newly opened stretch is even half as bad, keep your eyes open.

In grade school, I participated in my very first 'benefit', for Unicef...we went door-to-door with little cardboard $ collection boxes. The most memorable one of all my school years was a 20 MILE walk-a-thon for MS. Whoo, those were the days my friends! As a teen, I volunteered, got out of school for the day :) and typed at the check in area of several Red Cross Blood Mobiles. (I also used to donate blood as much as possible
[before I took Plaquenil and then began Methotrexate therapy], for the one time I needed 2 units of O-, the hospital I was in had NONE. What news THAT was! An uncle found someone with O- through a blood bank at his company, and I was finally hooked up. :) ) While I do believe local Red Cross chapters do good, it's also another national corporation. While advertising to help soldiers travel during a death or crisis in the family, they fail to mention his pay is attached and they make certain to get every cent back (of DONATED $), unless things have changed, but I doubt it. The Salvation Army on the other hand, is a TRUE charity. At holiday time, if I have the $ on me, no matter how many times I pass one, I always put a dollar or 2 in the kettle.

Anyone see the "King of Queens" episode where he became Vegan?

While I'm not Vegetarian, a dear friend is. We have conversed about it on a few occasions, but I've never been made to feel judged or inferior. She has my utmost respect and is without a doubt one of the finest people I'll ever know. She is also one heck of a Bass player and my son is in love with her Music room. :D

While I aspire to be the best person I can, 'judge not' and all that, as I said to another friend a few weeks ago, most people suck, which is saddening to me, but I quickly get over feeling that way, for many people do NOT! :D If someone needs help, it doesn't matter what their Faith is or political leanings are, whether their lifestyle is the same as mine, or we like all the same genres of Music. I would assist with a benefit for, donate to, or try to help just about any decent non-profit agency or person in need. (Within reason. I wouldn't help a pedofile, except to 'help' make certain there was ammunition in a weapon so they could put themselves out of childrens' misery. )
