Live Music and the Power to Heal...

Post by YankeeRose »

or ease pain, if not at the very least make a person feel a heck of a lot better.

There are times, even when I feel like total crap, simply sitting and listening to certain live Music, by the time I leave, I somehow feel better. Sometimes it's a little bit better, other times it's a whole lot. Someone once said it could be due to magnets (in the amps, I believe), but if that were the case, ALL live Music should have the same affect. (Beans or booze don't always enter into the equation, either. ) I noticed this quite some time ago, and I'm curious to see if anyone else has had similar experiences.

It's not only you, I get the same satisfaction when listening to live music.
It somehow makes the hustle and bustle of everyday life go by the wayside, which leaves only you and the music.
It's nice to have the companionship of good friends to share in the experience. My pal Buddy Weiser and his partner Jimmy Beam also help the equation! Lol!
Fightin' the system like a true modern day Robin Hood.

Sometimes when I see a band that I really dig it gives me goosebumps. Thats prolly one of the coolest feelings ever.

Music is always great no matter what :) I personally dont like djs and I dont get the same feeling from going to the Island with my friend as I do when seeing a live band...

One of the best stress relievers is walking into a bar heading up to the dance floor and letting the music take over :)

That's why I (we) play an instrument. The positive effects are even greater playing than they are listening !

You said it Chell, I don't like djs either. While some of my fondest memories are of having once danced the night away, and I hear you about the stress, :D I'm talking about actual pain relief/feeling better when I can't dance, or couldn't dance much.

I saw a show once on TLC or Discovery about healing, pain relief and I believe it was the Music from a Harp, but this is far removed from Harp Music...or, possibly the Musician, what ever the Instrument, is a Healer of a sort, and the other person has to be receptive of the Energy they are giving...just some of the wacky things I ponder...
