I just got in from the Kiss show and for the first time since the original reunion tour, I was left totally speechless after seeing them. Musically, they had their stuff together. Vocally, Gene and Paul were a little fatigued. I honestly have never heard or seen Paul like that. However, he pulled through like a trooper. The new guitar player sounded better than Ace in his prime and nailed everything, but his backup vocals weren't good at all. Eric Singer was REALLY impressive with how solid he played, as well as keeping tunes around their original tempo.
Kiss ventured past the classics and dug into some newer stuff. Unholy, Lick It Up, God Gave Rock and Roll To You, War Machine, and I Love It Loud.
I was a little skeptical in seeing them with the new line up, but I'm really glad I went. As a matter of fact, I was one of the boobs at the end of the night to pay $25 for a copy of the concert on CD. They had copies within 10 minutes of the band's last song for everyone. If anyone's interested in hearing the show, let me know.

I think the trend of recording shows for public distribution is a cool idea, I hope to see it increase. I'm a stealth bootlegger/trader from way back and this would make it easier for me...not having to sneak in equipment to get a decent recording of a live show.
A lot of bands (Dream Theater, Guns 'n roses, etc.) digitally record EVERY single show and it's cool that technology is coming around and allowing sharing of these unique live shows.
