First one I saw was when I was in college in '99. I was in Pittsburgh at the Metropol, M, or whatever it's called now. I seen (sadly by myself without my rommates) Dope, Static-X, and Fear Factory. It owned! I got to hang out with Simon Dope and the bassist from Static-X and got a sweet pic of myself and Ray Hererra (I hope I spelled that right.). The funny thing is apparently there's no back door to the place so they had to walk right in the front door. I was talking to some people behind me. I turned around being the conversation was done and this guy butted in line. I was like, "Hey man, line's back there." He turned around and it was Dino. I freaked and apologized so much he was laughing and said no problem. Then I mustered up the courage to ask for his autograph. We shook hands and everything was cool. I wish I had a better camera than the Rite Aid special disposable camera, but it was all good. Again, bummed I couldn't share the awesome time with some friends...or even random girls...lol.
I saw them open for Kansas at the War Memorial.HarleyRo1 wrote:I was there too...with Huey Lewis and the News...and...I saw them twice...doubly embarassing...byndrsn wrote:I really hate to admit this, but my first was Loverboy in the War Memorial in the early to mid 80's!!
OMG!!!

You don't shoot a man in the dick!
Class! Does everyone know who wrote "Timothy (Sorry We Ate Ya)"? Anyone?? VENTGtr??ZappasXWife wrote:My first was the Bob Seger System...The warm-up band was The Boys who did that one hit wonder called Timothy about the dudes that ate their friend in a coal mine instead of starving to death. Wholesome entertainment there.
Too late...Rupert Holmes of "Pina Colada Song" fame. That's who's to blame.
Oh...BTW
First Show...The Who...Civic Arena
Revels in His Unnatural Hatred of Flutes
My first was Def Leppard at The Civic Area on the Adrenalize Tour just after Steve died. I was seriously in the nose bleed section. It kinda sucked, but I was very young and it was very over whelming. Perhaps it was a good thing.
I saw my first Rush concert there too, before they turned it over to always being at the Pavilion.

First rock show: Kix, Krokus, and Ted Nugent at City Island in Harrisburg... Ted was the offical loudest band in the world then. I didn't doubt it for an instant... we left during the encores, and you could hear it plainly at the Capitol building, about a mile away, in city traffic.
First national of any genre: I saw Johnny Cash when I was 4. It was cool, I guess, but I was more interested in the guy dressed as Batman who parachuted in before the show started.----->JMS

It was either The Doobie Brothers or Cheap Trick at the War Memorial, late 70's... Hard to remember back that far, clearly..... Decadence ran amok though..
