Sponsors
Has anyone ventured in finding different sponsors? I see a few bands on here have sponsorships and was wondering. We're trying to get picked up by a few different companies to help cover costs of shows.

Good luck. I'm noticing a running joke while searching out sponsors:
Sure we'll sponsor you! But first you need to be signed and touring. Then we'll consider a sponsorship.
I'm sorry, I might be naive about this...but if you're a national band and touring already, I don't know how much you really need the sponsorship. Yes, things are probably still tight and you might need the money, but it's a lot tighter for the "little locals" who are trying to get more than their feet wet. Why aren't their more sponsors willing to take a chance on the no-names? Give them a trial run and if they aren't keeping up, then drop them..but give them a try.
Another thing I'm seeing is this: Typhoon businesses will not sponsor you. You must first go to local distributors to see if they will. If not, you're screwed. Also...if you're trying for a beer or alcohol company to sponsor you, forget it if you're under 21. All memebers of a band (for example, Jager does this I believe) must be 21 <with a set number of shows a month>. What happens if all the members of your band are in their early 30's but your bass player is only 20? That sucks. Gah. Okay.
This wasn't supposed to be a rant...but that's what I know about sponsors. There are too little of them and not enough willing to bend set rules.
